Look how gorgeous this is on Josie! The color is perfect!

Saige wears her belt low on the hip.

I love these SW belts! What a beautiful surprise, thank you Susan for thinking of my dolls and taking time to create these wonderful belts.

*Opening* AG Blue Sparkle Holiday Dress

I love this outfit!!

It's so sparkling gorgeous and the color is rich. The net details are feminine and oh la la - the jeweled bow in front is tres elegante.

The shoes are equally cute. I have really wanted this dress for Saige. I highly recommend this outfit, it's classic, well made and oh so fancy!

Spotted Appaloosa for Saige's Birthday

We celebrate Saige's birthday today. Yesterday I bought her the Paradise Western Spotted Appaloosa because he looks so much like Picasso. It's scheduled to arrive next week, a few days late, but I'm sure Saige will be thrilled.

Picasso is now retired, but was $94 (+ shipping for me). I went to Kohl's and ordered the Spotted Appaloosa at their kiosk and got FREE shipping! With tax I paid a total $22.99.

It comes with a tan plastic saddle, but I may spray paint it black.

 Saige's Parade Saddle Set $38

Saige makes sure Picasso looks his best for the "save the arts" parade with this set:
  • A fancy western saddle, decorated with faux silver details to sparkle in the sun
  • A flannel saddle blanket and a pretty printed scarf for Picasso's tail
  • Make-believe horse treats and a clicker that really works—your girl can teach Picasso new tricks!

Yay! I can't wait for her horse to arrive! Stay close for the opening.

DIY - MyAG for Historical Alternative?

I saw a video a while ago about this very subject and I can no longer find it.

If you missed out on the opportunity to buy BFF dolls, archived historical dolls or retired GOTY dolls, you can create your own with MyAG.  This is a great alternative for parents who want similar looking dolls for their younger children.

*Not an exact, but a close match!

If your daughter missed out on Ruthie, consider MyAG #41.
She will not have gray eyes, but she is a very close match!

Consider MyAG #54 for Ivy
You will of course have to cut the hair to Ivy's length.

MyAG #51 for Kirsten
(JLY#3 is hard to find)

If your daughter loved Cecile - MyAG #46.
Her eyes will be brown not hazel and she will have a side part.

MyAG #33 for GOTY 2007 Nicki Fleming
Both have freckles and blue eyes, #33 has more red in her blond hair.

 *****

*Note: These are suggestions for those of you with younger children who missed out on these dolls and may want similar ones for birthday or holiday gifts as a good alternative. Often time these once loved dolls can be more expensive on ebay than new dolls. I am not suggesting this for doll collectors.

She and her alien friend will watch fireworks from the roof top!

DIY - Saige's Patriotic Decorations

Saige is going to decorate Zachariah for his parade debut. If you have horses, or other pets such as dogs, goats, cats or cattle you can make decorations for them for a parade.

She began adding ribbons to Zachariah's mane then braided his tail and added ribbons. She placed a flag print blanket under his saddle.

Next she wrapped his legs and saddle with garland.

Then she added a flower on his forehead.

Now Zachariah is dressed for his important parade duties!

*On Location* Saige in New Mexico

Our quick weekend trip to New Mexico was TERRIFIC!

LONG car ride!!

Saige was very happy to finally be out of the back seat of the car, but she was very hungry..

I didn't buy any dolls. These were $40.00 and very hard plastic with weighted bodies. They may have been filled with sand or pebbles.

The following day Saige posed for photos by the Appaloosa.

Saige loved the outdoor nature walk.

What a FUN trip - but it's nice to be back home.
