*REVIEW* Disney Classic Friends - Mickey Mouse

Let's face it - I LOVE DOLLS!
If a doll catches my eye, I'll buy it. I have seen and heard a lot about the Disney Animator Toddler dolls and found these two at TRU. I bought the Mickey Mouse doll for $15.

This doll has a sweet and innocent expression. She stands 16" tall and is made entirely of hard vinyl.

Her head pivots left and right, her arms can move 360-degrees and her legs can do the splits!

Her rooted hair is brown with auburn highlights. A painted face and rooted hair with a durable all vinyl body allows this doll to be fully submerged in water, taken to the pool, the bathtub or the beach.

Her body is slim, she is not able to wear any 18" doll clothing. She may be able to wear BFC Ink clothes, but definitely you will have to sew your own outfits for this doll or allow her to share with the other animator dolls.

I think these toddler dolls are adorable and great for doll play, they are durable which makes them a perfect first doll for younger children. Personally I just feel happier seeing this smiling face. She is not part of the Disney Animator Princess Collection, but she is still considered an animator doll.

Disney Animator Collection has 5" minis so your dolls can have their own dolls. $19.95 sold only at the Disney Store.
Cinderella
Elsa
Jasmine
Ariel
Anna

If you collect Disney Princess Toddler dolls and want mini dolls for them, the 6" Petite Princess dolls are also available at TRU.

$9.99

Sets $19.99

Don't forget the 16" My First Disney Princess  Sofia Toddler Doll. She is not an animator doll, but she is similar in nature.

$29.99

*In Store Report* OG Aisle + Pricing - Mastermind Toys (Canada)

First of all a HUGE THANK YOU to Robin and her daughter for making the trip to Mastermind Toys and bringing back this in store report on the Our Generation aisle.
********

I'm a reader from Canada and my eldest daughter and I happened to stop into my local Mastermind Toys yesterday to check out the Our Generation stuff. I was specifically on the hunt for Holiday Harper (reg $29.99, now on sale for $14.99) and here are some pics from our excursion.

We saw lots of goodies--the shelves were quite stocked with dolls, clothes, accessories and shoes. Very nicely displayed, especially after the disappointment of the Target selection. (We went to Target immediately after (the stores are across from one another) and the only stock they had was two outfits, a single doll and a scooter. :( ) Brooke was particularly taken with Evelyn in the Limelight.

Anyways, we talked with the staff and they had just sold out of Harper (can still get her on sale online) but mentioned how they would continue to offer the line. Pleased to hear it!

In fact, in some of my digging, I learned that Battat is Montreal-based and the dolls are actually Canadian-designed (although manufactured overseas). Interesting!

They even had the retro cruiser (top shelf). We were also looking for the kitchen but did not see it (didn't see it on the website either). But there were a lot of the new and retro outfit items.

Prices ranged from basic dolls at $29.99 to deluxe dolls at $49.99. Outfits are from $14.99 to $19.99 and smaller accessories ranged from $9.99 to $22.99. They did stock horses, salon chairs and scooters. I did not see the elusive laundrey.

 *******
Robin also painstakingly gathered online pricing for the entire OG line at Mastermind Toys! Definitely not a small project. Thank you so much for your research and this price list!

*RUMOR* - Possible BEFOREVER Dresses

My source wishes to remain anonymous, but here are the eBay and Taobao links for possible new Beforever outfits.

 Dress One
Reminds me a lot of Samantha's Bridesmaid Dress. Since this dress is not included in her Pleasant Company Pretty Clothes pattern set, it is not a homemade dress.
(right click on the image to view)

It's unclear if both dresses are for Samantha or if one dress is for Rebecca. They could be generic or prototypes because there is no label. If they are prototype dresses, the colors and fabrics could change. And it is unclear what the matching girl dresses will look like.

Personally I'm not a fan and my first thought was, 'oh no more Pepto pink!'  This could be Samantha's flower picking dress along with the RUMORED gazebo.

Of course this is ALL SPECULATION!

With the RUMOR of Samantha getting a Gazebo (February 12), it's unclear what her backyard garden or city park will look like. I saw a few garden items right size for Samantha's spring garden and flower picking set. All are at Hobby Lobby.

  Imagine this full of flowers!

No garden is complete without a birdbath.

You can even cover the seat of the bike and use it as an extra for Nellie.

*In Store Report* Mastermind Toys To Carry Entire OG Line (Canada)

With the latest news that Target is closing 133 Canadian stores, we have all wondered what will happen to OG. My readers in Canada say Mastermind Toys are opening more stores throughout Canada. Mastermind Toys states they are now carrying the entire OG line.

Doll sets, clothing, accessories, scooters and horses.

Kitchens, salon chairs and barns.

I didn't see the Retro Diner online, but Mastermind Toys states they are carrying the entire line of OG products so it could be stocked in store.

Any Canadian readers who want to give us an *In-store Report* including photos and prices, please email SnickerdoodleStreet@yahoo.com

Josefina Montoya - Classic vs Beforever Comparison

I originally bought an AG Mattel Josefina from an eBay seller. As stated in a previous post, her hair began coming out in clumps and was impossible to control.

My first Beforever doll is Rebecca, who is a beauty! I decided I wanted a Beforever Josefina and didn't want a head replacement. So I sent Josefina to Selena for a makeover.

You can see I never removed Josie's hair out of the braid. When I did, I discovered the wig/hair problem.

There are slight differences: the meet outfit and accessories are different, but the face paint and skin tone is a little warmer on BF Josie.

I recommend adding BF Josefina to your collection and I can't wait to see what is added to freshen up her collection this year.

Where's Willow? Home from Chicago!

Willow arrive safely and swiftly back home from Chicago! She had plenty of brochures and keepsakes with her.

Chicago post cards and candy from Dulcelandia (Sweet Land).

Doll size photos for a scrapbook of both her and Holly's week together.

In a second box accompanying Willow was a surprise gift! A photo memory box (shadow box) complete with a map of noted stops where she and Holly visited, ticket stubs, a coin and photos!! I was so touched at this thoughtful and unexpected gift.

This is both creative and sentimental - a beautiful gesture. Thank you Claudia and Sam so much. This now hangs in my modern doll room next to my computer where I can see it daily.

*Review* Espari Pretty Plaid Fashion

I recently purchased the Espari Pretty Plaid fashion pack from Barnes and Noble, I absolutely love this set and think it looks adorable on basically any doll.

It fits best on slim-bodied dolls like Journey Girls and

Disney Princess and Me.

I think it would also work well for Carpatina slim dolls. The dress can't close in the back for most regular 18 inch dolls, but several of the pieces can be shared across doll lines. Overall I think it's a wonderful value with great play potential.

I have more pictures as well as a review of the various pieces on my blog at dollsonadime.com

Hope you enjoy the fashion show!
