Creating Isabelle's Space

When Izzy was released, I had made a HTM Video for those of us who couldn't afford her $275 Design Studio. I decided to give it a go myself!

Time is working against me....it's the BUSIEST time of year so I will have to postpone accessorizing her shelving area. I just really wanted to get a designated space for her so she was settled before the end of the year.

Maryellen's NEW Retro Kitchen!!

Finally...

I set up the vintage retro GE kitchen pieces with the BF refrigerator. 

The small space next to Maryellen's living room, is JUST ENOUGH SPACE to line the three pieces together. 

There's 1-inch between the fridge and corner counter, enough to be able to open the door. I was shocked it all fit.

The room still needs completed, but I have had several inquiries on how the pieces look together and whether I had set this up yet.

I will do an update on her kitchen once it's completed. I'm loving this set, so happy it looks great together!

Bright Room for Sam Liron, 1960

 Sam's room is yellow, with blue, orange and pink touches.

Matilda's trunk rests to the side.

Sam's blue chair and white nightstand are DIY.

Her bedding is a warm blanket in a creamy color. 

DIY Bakery - Creating a Place for Grace

I've had to make changes in my doll room (again) to fit everyone in. Grace had a space in the old room, but all of my dolls had to move into one 12' x 12' spare room. 

I found these ornaments at Michael's 50% off.

I do no have room for large items and do not own Grace's bakery. I decided to make a simple (small) bakery for her using what I had. This is the 30" wide x 22" deep space I had to work with. Not much, but at least there was a place for my Grace!!!

I began covering the walls, then making bakery doors for the facade on each side.

It's a DIY bakery.  

Grace will need an oven and more display space. 

There is still shelving and a cabinet that needs to go inside, but there was not much room to display the dolliday items. I opted to leave them out for the season. Once spring arrives, the bakery can add more shelving.

It's an interesting angle....two pieces of furniture in the same opposite corners.

TV viewing has to be done while seated facing to the right.

 

This room is temporary.

I have put this simple layout together using the DIY projects until Maryellen's items arrive. After reading more about her, I will be able to add more to the walls and set out more details.

Lydia's Room Reveal - TOUR

Georgian design, which was characterized by an adherence to theories of order, symmetry, and proportion and represented a significant departure from earlier English decorative traditions. The first buildings in the colonies had irregular facades and were essentially postmedieval structures. These small houses often consisted of two simple rooms. The decoration of these rooms reflected the skill of the housewright, who embellished his labor—the house's primary structural timbers—with basic woodworking tools.

Lydia has a large working kitchen with a prep table she can dine at as well.

Her armoire holds her hat, slippers and accessories.

  With the close of the American Revolution, the Georgian period ended, but its impact on design did not. 

I found through much research that blue was a very popular color to paint the trim, doors and a room's paneled dado.

Creating Amelia's Victorian Parlor - TOUR

Amelia's story takes place in several different rooms and living quarters, however the place where she settles down isn't described in much detail. That gave me freedom to make my own living space for her. I chose a quaint parlor, nothing fancy, but Victorian nonetheless. 

I found this sturdy doll closet and it is perfect for Amelia.

 I didn't like the natural wood and painted it a deep brown. 

Amelia shows us the closet interior. There's a place for hanging clothes and a small mirror on the door.

 Miss Lovington is perched next to her mirror. The hat box holds her tights, stage headband and party hat.

Her tea chest stores nicely under the settee.

I downloaded the available portraits of Amelia's parents from A Girl for All Time, then framed them.
