*In Store Report* Springfield and Creatology - Michael's Canada

On a shopping trip this weekend, Brooke and I ended up at Michael's Craft Store and decided to scope out the 18-inch doll clothes. They had no Springfield dolls in stock, but plenty of outfits and shoes. 

They also had all four Creatology "Modern Girls" dolls in stock. We had only seen the blonde and brunette previously. 

We made a quick stop-over to another Walmart to see if they had any new MLA doll stuff. No new spring collection stuff beyond the dolls and hats already sent you. They did have the pet stroller in. 

 Also, my daughter and I had a good laugh at the discounted doll below. I think she will need to be reduced a lot more for someone to buy her with her broken eye. Maybe she will find a home with a kind-hearted doll doctor?

DIY - Doll Trunk/ Murphy Bed Combo + Desk

Little Sissy has no real space or room of her own. After my Doll Room was finished I had to make another area for both Sissy and Sam.

I love the Doll Trunk and Bed storage units from the Queens Treasures, however at $129.99 it's not within my budget.

I have an unused Springfield doll trunk that I converted into a Doll Trunk and Bed combo.

The top drawer holds socks, tights and hats; shoes are stored in the bottom.

Sissy's laying out her bedtime clothes.

 Now she can sleep tight in her cozy bed nook.

 Sissy's bedding : 
Soft Lilac baby blanket from the Dollar Tree and two custom pillows from my etsy shop.

Sissy's bed : foam board and custom sized mattress from my etsy shop.

And in the morning it all tucks away neatly. 

Then the bed becomes a desk.

Now Sissy has her own little space. Not only a Duo bed and closet, but an added desk feature to do art and homework.

*Review* Springfield Rope Bed

I mentioned before how I love the Springfield Collection doll furniture from 1996-1998.  

I recently opened a drop-leaf table and chair set and have been on the look out for a bed similar to Addy's rope bed. 

This is what I bought $18 from ebay - original price $14.96.
 I have Addy's quilt, the Springfield bed is identical.

They also made a standing mirror $19.95. 

 The bed is in a cherry finish so it's a little darker than Addy's. Its very easy to put together and sturdy once all the nuts/bolts are tightened.

It didn't come with a mattress so I made one out of muslin. I would love more Springfield Collection furniture.

*REVIEW* Springfield Table Set

In a previous post on furniture, I mentioned the 1998 Springfield Collection, which consisted of historical looking furniture for as little as $14.96. These were definitely inspired by AG.

I was browsing eBay and found this set for $29.99 and I love it. I wanted a basic table set for my Faithful Friends dolls.

This drop leaf cherry stained table has small wood braces that slide out when you want to use the table at full extension.

I really do love this table and chair set. What a great deal. Google Springfield Collection Doll Furniture.
