*Interview* Miranda Wallace - Sweet Pea Cove Etsy

I started my Etsy shop, Sweet Pea Cove, in 2012 because I wanted a way to share my creations. I love to sew, crochet, and pretty much every crafting method under the sun. When I create something, I feel like the sun has just come out on a cloudy day. I feel free, excited, proud, and just plain happy! I am so excited to share my creations with people who get just as excited as I do.

After I got more confident in my creating abilities, I decided to branch out into PDF Patterns. It is so fun to create a garland, hat, doll, or clothes and think, "How would I explain this to someone?". I make my patterns as detailed as possible with photos and descriptions so you can create something that you absolutely love.

Whether you buy a product that I make for you or you purchase a Pattern, I hope you enjoy my store.
Thank you!

18th Century Doll Clothing *Resource*

My little Felicity is a lot of fun, her wardrobe is entirely Pleasant Company though I do not have ALL of her outfits.

I'm not a "purist", if I see something I really like I'll get it for my dolls. I found a beautiful etsy shop with gorgeously detailed clothing for Felicity and I wanted to pass the resource on to you.

https://www.etsy.com/shop/WilliamsburgRose

Creations from Williamsburg Rose©, while made for play value, are based on real 18th century clothing in their construction and trimming. Real silks, satins, linen, laces and passementarie (fancy trims) are used to create beautiful and well-made doll clothes that will last for play and display.

Each of our especially color co-ordinated collections has its own unique character and style, including a variety of clothing and accessories highlighting fashions of the 18th century.

From a Daytime outfit to an elegant Ball Gown, each one-of-a-kind wardrobe comes complete with a matching assortment of accessories, from shoes to caps. No two collections will ever be made the same - each is an exclusive group of fabrics, colors and textures!

French Bulldog (Alternative)

I saw this $9 French bulldog at Walmart.

He is pretty cute and he is animated (3 AAA).

This would make a good alternative for Grace's dog. Just make a red leash.

*Reader Photos* Historical Dress Maker

Michele sent in these photos of historical doll dresses she has made.  I found her featured in the Grand Rapids Press!

I make historical outfits for the American Girl dolls on etsy ShellDolls.  I especially like the 1860 era, but have made a number of outfits for Felicity and Caroline's era also.  I wanted to share some of the outfits with you.

I have been sewing doll clothes for nearly 40 years. I began collecting American Girl dolls and their accessories when they first opened in 1989.
I worked in a bridal store for several years before deciding to pursue my own sewing business.

Doll Stoves You Can Buy

I saw a few great doll size items at the antique shop (I didn't buy anything).

I love this ice cream set for Samantha and Nellie $25.

And this Windsor desk for Felicity $25.

I saw two (life size) stoves that reminded me of Kit!!! (Priced over $850)

I have two tutorials on HTM doll stoves.

But if you're looking for something pre-made I have a few suggestions. Of course eBay is a good source for searching out stoves...

Doll Clothes Hangers - Resource

Pleasant Company included a hanger with doll clothing purchases and they said The American Girls Collection.

I wish they still included hangers. I found an eBay source for affordable hangers because I need the full size hangers to include skirts or pants.
DON'S DOLL SUPPLIES

I have purchased (24) two dozen for $14.00
and they are very sturdy.

These come in packages of 12, 24, 36. I use all of the hangers listed in this post. If you need hangers I recommend Don's Doll Supply.
