*REVIEW* Gabriela's Celebration Dress

$36 Gabriela celebrates the arts in this fancy outfit, featuring:
  • A velvet dress with a crisscross neckline, silver sash, and burnout pattern on the skirt
  • A sparkly star headband that shows off her curls
  • Sparkly silver shoes with ankle straps

Gabriela’s Celebration Outfit is really nice. We LOVE it! The over skirt is a velvet-ish print and there is a little tulle around the bottom of the underskirt to give it puffiness. It is gorgeous.

*On Location* MaryHill Museum Goldendale, WA

Maryhill Museum is a small museum that has a little bit of everything in Goldendale, WA  The museum building was originally the mansion Sam Hill built. He had purchased 5,300 acres of land to form a farming community and named it Maryhill Land Co. after his daughter, Mary. He turned the mansion into a museum. It was dedicated in 1926 by Sam Hill’s friend Queen Marie of Romania (the granddaughter of Britain’s Queen Victoria). There are some items in the  museum from her.

They have some Indian that are similar to items in Kaya’s collection.

Sam Hill was involved in building highways in the Gorge. This summer the fire in the Gorge in OR affected some of the old highway. The museum is not located in this area, instead further east.

*REVIEW* OG Doll Naya

Nays could have a large clothing collection - I found her at TJ Maxx for $27.99.

Naya finds a new home for herself after her move from South Africa and new homes for the animals.

Illustrations from the book include outfits OG has in its collection, too.

Naya is a great OG doll with extra outfit and book,Finding a Home.

*REVIEW* MLA Kitchen Island Set

We love this new Kitchen Island from Wal-Mart My Life Brand As Bband. It is very nice and offers so much storage. We love American Girl TM kitchen for $250.00, but just can't make the investment, one of the big reasons, is not being able to know it will not go on sale like Tenny's Stage that cost $250 being marked down for one day to $168.00. Buying with confidence on the big ticket items is gone. If I can get a big ticket item on a rock bottom sale it is a dream.

With all of that out of the way, this set offers a fun and enjoyable play experience for us. It includes lots of storage, in fact the American Girl goodies we have fit in perfectly including the new A/G Pie Baking Set. Now our dream is to complete this scene with  Maryellen's refrigerator and food set and maybe a Breakfast Table Set.

*REVIEW* 14" Style Dreamers - Armelle

There are four 14" dolls in this series.

Armelle comes dressed in a one piece dress, leggings and silver fabric shoes. She holds a sequined backpack.

Look at the sparkles in her eyes! Her hair is rooted, full and very soft.

She is made entirely of hard plastic.

I do not own any of the WW clothing, but I do now that she can fit into the shorter dresses within the Disney Princess and Me clothes.

She makes a great little sister.

*NEWS* Why Does Hasbro Want to Buy Mattel?

Hasbro’s takeover offer for rival Mattel, if accepted, would combine the country’s two largest toy manufacturers into a powerhouse company. But despite the obvious commonalities of the two toy companies, the approach still caught some people by surprise.

It’s a deal that makes sense, but not just for the obvious reasons. While adding key Mattel brands like Barbie and Hot Wheels to Hasbro’s lineup, which includes Nerf and key production deals with Disney, will certainly boost the bottom line, there’s more going on here than just strengthening the IP catalog.

Here are a few of the other possible factors behind the deal.

*REVIEW* OG Marching Majorette

I used to twirl my baton as a girl and my Aunt was a Majorette in college. She marched in parades and twirled with fire, throwing her baton in the air, turning around and catching her baton.  When I saw this OG Marching Majorette outfit at Target, I knew I had to buy it! It was $17 dollars, but I got 25 % off with a text coupon.  I think it is so cute!

It comes with a hat, baton, red rubber/plastic boots a black belt and the dress.  The AG dolls cannot hold the baton.

I had a real hard time getting one sleeve on the doll.  It took me forever.  The other sleeve went over the hand quite easily.  I wish it would have come with something to wear under the skirt. The belt was too loose , so I had to pull the Velcro tighter.  Now,  this makes me think that I need to do a scene with a marching band!
