How To Make- Kit's Tree House (Lots of Photos)

Kit's (retired) Tree House (AG $250) is the perfect place for Kit to play with her friends. It's a wooden tree house big enough for two dolls, with a faux stained-glass window that opens and a balcony big enough for Kit to stand on. A pretend oak tree supports the house and a chandelier made of multicolored beads hangs from the ceiling. Accessories include Kit's lantern with glow-in-the-dark lightning bugs inside, self-adhesive photos of Kit’s heroes to decorate the “Member-o-belia” wall and a rope with  a bucket to lift Kit’s dog, Grace, up to the balcony. It's HUGE!
 Dimensions: W: 36" x H: 37" x D: 23"

My tree house is made from cardboard.
Dimensions: W: 15" x H: 24" x D: 18"

I covered a box with contact paper, cut out a door and a window then framed both with Popsicle sticks.

Using left over cardboard, I cut out a railing for the balcony then secured it to the tree house using hot glue.

I added the asymmetrical roof using foam board and more hot glue then painted it gray.

I painted the window frame white and added more glue sticks to the pitch on the roof.

 I used felt for flooring.
I used a sharpie to draw details on the roof.

Add the sign over the door. I painted this one on.

Its lightweight, sturdy and cost $2 to make. I got the box free and already had the paint and Popsicle sticks from previous projects. It doesn't have a tree trunk, but it's a fun structure to take pictures and for the girls to hang out together.

    1. The roof was assembled, glued before painting perhaps this helped it to hold its shape. You can opt to use scrapbook paper or contact paper instead of paint. Good luck :-)
