Derek took the opportunity this Valentine's Day to give Paige some gifts.

Derek and Paige - Budding Romance

I don't know what happened. We got snow in Texas and suddenly a trip to the park turned into this.....

"Paige? I brought you the park today because I wanted to tell you something."

"When I first met you I thought you were so pretty, different from any other girl I had met before. Then about Christmas time I realized I liked you."

"Really? I like you too Derek."

"I wanted to carve out initials into a tree here at the park."

"If that's okay..."

"Sure!"

My friends Shelly sent me a gift for the holidays!!!

I have seen this online and on other dolls, but it's never at my Target. I'm CRAZY over these skates, wish I had a matching pair for myself. The skates were easy to put on.

Paige looks the part with her hair up in a ponytail. I love this color combo, in fact there are three color combos I especially love, but this is the only I have actually seen produced.

The quality on this is very, very good and the matte satin dress gives this outfit an extra "step up" instead of being made in cotton. The apron is cotton and this outfit comes with socks too.

And my boys were not left out! Here is a hoodie for Derek and TOOLS for the boys to tinker with. (I'll have to remove the key chains).

Sam will look great in this jacket and hat for winter. 

I'm sure he will let his sister borrow it since she is an American Girl!

Straightening Paige's Hair

There are some of you who also have Marie Grace as a modern doll in your collection. Some have inquired on "how" to straighten the waves from the braids and the CURLS from the tendrils. Here is how I straightened my doll's hair.

First I took her hair down and wet the sides completely. Hair must be soaking wet, towel dried and brushed into sections.

I used a hair straightening iron on the lowest setting. 

You can see here that the hair in front is still wavy.

After it dried, I repeated the process making sure the small front sections were very wet. You may see steam as you do this, don't worry it's just the water evaporating not the hair burning.

This is her hair after the second treatment. I made sure to use braid spray this time then allowed it to air dry.

It is straight enough for me at this point and over time it will continue to relax with each brushing using braid spray in front.

Those of you afraid to use a hair straightening iron can try the hot water treatment. Be sure to section off the wavy hair and tie the back of the hair out of the way. You can dip her hair in one side at a time. Good luck!

*Review* Justice "Just Like Me" Track Suit

I made a trip to the Justice store.

I'm glad I ordered the hot pink track suit online because they had none in store. The display was small.

It actually shipped quickly!

Six piece set: Hoodie, t-shirt, sweatpants, hair bow, duffle bag and high tops.

I LOVE this outfit! Velcro closures on back. Mix and match with other clothes is a bonus.

The jacket has a real zipper, fits perfectly and is made very well. 
The duffle bag is roomy too.

This outfit is very good quality, but I wouldn't pay full price for it. Check online for sales especially during holiday season. You maybe could buy two for the price of one with 50% sale.

Paige also got a pair of white converse style sneakers (Hobby Lobby) to wear because I forgot this set had the high tops.
