the year.

Total must have's.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have been waiting for this collection for a long time. These are must have books for me. I am thinking of developing my own curriculum so entrepreneurship is a big deal just like it was for Ms Rowland. My only grievance is with the cookbooks. I would love to see healthier recipes with alternatives to white flour like almond or whole wheat. Not for vanity purposes but for children who are diabetic or prediabetic. It is hard to explain that to my child that there are just somethings that are too high in carbs like pancakes with bananas. Maybe they could include the nutritional information. We have the diabetic kit for dolls which is great but when I see these recipes I wish they would include more protein based meals like cheese omelets, or fratatas. Even buckwheat blueberry pancakes would be a nice alternative to the regular ones for heart health. That being said altogether I love AG books and am excited for these new editions.
ReplyDeleteTicia, How exciting, a curriculum! Wishing you much success!

DeleteI love the idea of the healthier ingredient alternatives!
DeleteThank you. It will not be on the same scale as Ms Rowland but it has lots of history and science for students to use.
DeleteVery much looking forward to the book about Pleasant Rowland, but why oh why on the cover for the "Brands We Know" book would Elizabeth's hair be braided, and with really tacky looking hair ties? There's wisps of hair coming out in several places and as the focal point of the cover, it doesn't look very professional.
ReplyDeleteThere's also an "American Girl Character Encyclopedia" book, hardcover, releasing June 4th. Found it by clicking on the link for the last book, as I was thrown by the release date--it's already available.

Oh, the hair ties! I didn't notice them at first. I thought they had put Lea on the cover, then realized it was Elizabeth...it is an interesting choice. Maybe a commentary on how we modernize historical dolls.
DeleteI will need the the breakfast and brunch book. LOL
