*REVIEW* Felicity's BF Undergarments (Video)

At AGP LA, her undergarments are displayed on a dress form so shoppers can see how Felicity is to wear them. There is no "how to" photo in the AG catalog.

In Felicity’s day, girls wore these undergarments beneath their dresses:
  • A white scoop-neck chemise that served as the first layer of clothing or could be used as a nightgown
  • Quilted stays with functional lace ribbon and fashionable tapestry print that provided a foundation for the top layers of clothing
  • A bumroll with ties to go around the waist and fasten on top of the chemise and stays; it was used to achieve lift at the back of the skirt for a true 1770s silhouette

The stay is SNUG on my PC Felicity. Very happy this is still within her color scheme and not LIME GREEN or PINK!

I recommend this!!!

  2. I think she should have had pantaloons or something. Does anyone know if the original Felicity had underwear. I do like this undergarment set. The stay could be pair with another home made dress.

    1. Original Felicity had no pantaloons, just the shift, which I don't understand why they didn't include with the doll. Her original undergarments were the stays, hoops, and a pocket, as all her dresses had slits in the sides with the pocket that would be placed underneath. --Jen

  3. Thank you for the display picture of the undergarments. It helps to see this especially as you mentioned it not being pictured in catalogs. The displays make all the difference. AG also used to have cards inserted into the packages featuring how to display the garment. Do not know why they stopped doing that? To me, that is apart of the doll company's motto about helping girls to learn more about history through creative play. My favorite part of buying new clothing would be the experience of learning how to dress my doll in the clothing from her period. I am happy to see the neutral colors with bits of red and burnt orange. This will go on my Elizabeth.

  4. Out of curiosity--the stay is snug on a PC Felicity. How does the underwear set look underneath a PC outfit? Does it enhance it, or detract? I'm mulling getting it right now and wish I hadn't used my AG Rewards certificate now (just used it Saturday for Rebecca's accessories, been holding off for probably two years), as there's things I'd like to order online.--Jen

  5. Thank you for the pictures and video. I was considering purchasing a new Felicity. I have looked at the older dolls, but I'm not a fan of the bright green eyes. In regards to your comment that the new Felicity doesn't look like the older, is that only in reference to the face makeup?

    1. Differences include the eyes, face makeup, and the eyelashes--older Felicity dolls have red eyelashes, my doll's being very soft. These new dolls have the same black, stiff lashes as all the others. My PC Felicity also seems to be a little slimmer than my other PC dolls, probably because she had the shift to wear underneath her dress and the optional undergarments with the stays, hoops, and pockets. There's also some slight variance in the hair color, and the older PC dolls are prone to dry hair. However I was able to get mine with dry hair to almost new condition with just one shampoo and conditioning cycle of a brand that was recommended on here some months ago. The shampoo worked so well I almost didn't use the conditioner. --Jen
