Felicity loves to stroll through Williamsburg, visit her father’s shop, and explore in this authentic 1770s outfit. It features:
- A traditional floral brocade blue-and-yellow dress with a scoop neck, short sleeves with ribbon detail, and bustling in the back
- White knee-high stockings
- Sturdy brown shoes with golden decorative buckles
This is a beautiful dress! It has a velcro closure in back.
There is a "bustle" that makes this dress easy to wear with the bum roll. I didn't see in the catalog (though it is there) that the shoes are brown. Yay!
Felicity looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
The ruffled details on the bodice and sleeve hem are the same as her hat.
I recommend this dress. You will not be disappointed.
I wish they would not use Velcro on vintage look.
ReplyDeleteI just wish they would not use Velcro, ESPECIALLY on more delicate materials. There's one dress--ONE--I can think of that I have that has a zipper instead of Velcro: the early 2000s purple Karaoke Girl of Today dress. --Jen
DeleteI think the Velcro is nice, both because it's better for little kids and also because it works better than, say, the tiniest zippers or snaps (think those terrible difficult barbie clothes with the snaps that hurt your fingers). However, all I want is no Velcro on satin/other delicate outfits. My poor Molly's Ms.Victory leotard is actually snagged really badly around the Velcro, even though it's the nice and modern plastic kind. Although it would be nice to have some more zippers or larger snaps and buttons on clothing.
DeleteWhen Kit first came out in 2000, her meet outfit and Birthday dress didn't have Velcro (later her shoes did). And the JLY outfit from the late 90s early 2000s, didn't have Velcro (except her shoes).
DeleteBeautiful dress. I hope to add this to my collection in the future. Was it a tight fit?
ReplyDeleteIt is a perfect fit! You will love it.
DeleteI am in love already.
ReplyDeleteWhich do you like best - her new outfit or her undergarments, if you could chose only one, for example? Because I am still not sure about the yellow - it seems so bright and not very historical to me. Thanks Rhonda ^_^
ReplyDeleteYikes! That's tough...I think the undergarments. The yellow is bright but this really is a stunning dress.
DeleteTwo thumbs up. Now I have to have this for Elizabeth. Do you think it has the possibility of staining Felicity vynal? The color is amazing, but I am afraid of the dye or any dye transfer stains. Do you have the same concern of letting your vintage Felicity wear it and for how long will you display her in the dress if you do not mind me asking for those of us with older dolls?
ReplyDeleteNo. Isabelle just got a costume change after being months in that Kmart ballet outfit she wears in the header. I think it will be safe. I plan on leaving Felicity in this entire ensemble for a while because I love the richness of it. I'm more afraid of her red cape and it has not transferred color onto the doll.
DeleteI bought this dress for my pre beforever Felicity, & I love it, but have not dressed her in it yet because I also just got her birthday dress on ebay for $35. :)
