DIY - How to Make Pretty City Carriage (Dolliday Crafts)

BIG undertaking!

I wanted the city carriage, but am saving for GOTY15.
I decided to make my own pretty city carriage for photo props. I lack the patience and skill to actually put rolling tires on it so my version is stationery.

Supplies:
  • cardboard box, 2
  • white foam boards
  • white poster board
  • fabric - metallic silver for canopy
  • Styrofoam florist wreaths (4)
  • fabric - wine or burgundy felt or fleece for seat
  • polyfil - to fill seat
  • GLUE lots of GLUE (I use hot glue)
  • wrapping paper tubes or wooden dowel (2)
  • plastic tube hangers (4) - gray
  • paint - black, gray
  • Holiday decor

 I don't have a tall enough backdrop.

This project is VERY detailed so it's best to watch the

  4. I love it! It looks so close to the real carriage! Also, if you're saving for goty 2015 does that mean you know what she looks like? Or are you just saving because you think you might want to buy her?

    1. Thank you. No, Zach isn't hitched up in these photos, but I'll be using this carriage for future photo shoots and he will be.

  6. Truly a gift you have there, for re-creating these things! I would love to see sneak peeks of the 2015 GOTY, but respect that you wait … integrity is a good thing. :)

    1. You may comment on any post no matter the date, it's fine. The cost of the carriage was approx $20. Everything except fabric came from the Dollar Tree. Good luck!!
