Amelia lived in Victorian London with her Aunt Cora. Aunt Cora's cook, Mrs Dove, was a bit of a tyrant, but she baked delicious cakes for tea in the parlour every afternoon. One of Amelia's favourites was Mrs. Dove's vanilla sponge - made into pretty little iced fancies. Amelia used to hide a few in her pinafore to share with Effie the maid and her pet bird, Miss Lovington.

Creating Amelia's Victorian Parlor - TOUR
Amelia's story takes place in several different rooms and living quarters, however the place where she settles down isn't described in much detail. That gave me freedom to make my own living space for her. I chose a quaint parlor, nothing fancy, but Victorian nonetheless.
I found this sturdy doll closet and it is perfect for Amelia.
I didn't like the natural wood and painted it a deep brown.
Amelia shows us the closet interior. There's a place for hanging clothes and a small mirror on the door.
Miss Lovington is perched next to her mirror. The hat box holds her tights, stage headband and party hat.
You've just arrived in time for tea!
I downloaded the available portraits of Amelia's parents from A Girl for All Time, then framed them.
Won't you sit a while and enjoy a vanilla tea cake?

Amelia's Victorian Bench
While out thrifty shopping I stumbled upon a delicious Victorian gingerbread bench trimmed in piped icing! It's completely made of durable plastic.
It would work well with the Garden Gazebo scene however for scale it works best with Amelia.
Her slim 16" body fits perfectly alongside the bench and she can sit comfortably.
Honestly, I expect Mary Poppins and Burt to come riding by on carousel horses at any moment!

*Review* Amelia's Stage Costume
With layers of gauzy fabric, the skirt is trimmed with satin
ribbons, braids and roses. The separate bodice and headband are detailed
with gold and blue floral braid and cream roses. Tights and golden
satin ballet pumps included.
In Amelia's story she is suddenly cast in a magical act at the Alhambra Theatre and Music Hall. After a successful performance she is outfitted for a stage costume.
Gertie, the seamstress,
who ran up all the chorus girls’ costumes in the music hall, stood
Amelia on a chair and gazed at her. She opened up her box of feathers
and sequins and glittery lace and held up a gorgeous piece of sky blue
tulle.

A lot of pieces come in this set. Each beautifully made.
The head band has an elastic strap in back to help hold it on her head.
All of the gorgeous detailing that was put into the leotard alone is amazing! The cream rosettes are thematic in this ensemble.
All of the clothing pieces have snap closures. The only elastic found is in both the netted tights and the net under skirt/ crinoline.
Word of caution, the elastic in the waist of the netted tights were a bit of a struggle to get over her small hips, they did pull apart from the elastic, so be careful when sliding these on.
The colors are so pretty - all of the blue and gold really do look nice with her coloring!
Beautiful shoes with elastic gold cording finish off her costume with elegance. I love this outfit, it is a special piece and any doll collector young/old will love admiring it's prettiness when Amelia wears it.

*Review* Amelia's Opera Cloak
This beautiful velvet teal-coloured cloak has a deep taffeta-silk
lined hood with beautiful silk braided trim and satin ribbon and tie.
The cloak is taffeta-silk lined with a hidden, secret pocket.
Amelia pulled her velvet
opera cloak about her shoulders. With the elegant flounce of the hood
and its rich braiding, she could already see herself in a box at the
theatre, eating crystalised violets.
The cloak is similar to Matilda's in the sense it has a secret pocket for holding small objects like keys or coins.
It's floor length and completely lined in satin.
The beautiful trim goes around the front of the hood.
Amelia wears its for a good portion in her story and it is a must have key piece within her collection. The color looks great on her too.
