*NEWS* Sneak Peek AG Benefit Sale Video + Dwindling Historical Selection

Here is a sneak peek video for the American Girl Benefit Sale.  

 

TIMESTAMP:

There are A LOT of Wellie Wishers ( “oodles of”) , Bitty Baby, and Kit that were previously sold in Costco. 

 9:00 - Wellie Wishers time mark. 

12:25 - quite a few of the mini dolls. (guess that is why they don’t have a Blaire mini doll.) 

13:39 - Bitty Baby  - two different sets, probably from two different years at Costco, maybe 2017 and 2018. 

15:15  - Kit, which was sold in Costco in 2017. 

16:55 - Isabelle - They have a lot of them. (WOW! I thought they were selling Isabelle at the Benefit sale in prior years. She says they have quite a bit of her.)  

19:10 - Melody’s bed - Says they have had it for a couple years now and tells how to redo it for a boys bed. (Guess that wasn’t a big seller.) 

I was surprised to see the Costco items from prior years. Costco, close to Christmas, will take the toys and move them to the aisle along the outside wall. When that happens, there are never a lot of the dolls. Costco sold the Bitty Babies online through the year. In 2018, the Wellie Wishers were online.

There are posts that mention that some of the historicals are not in the current catalog. Specifically, Felicity, Samantha, Kit, Addy, and Josefina. On the website, those five characters have a different webpage header and don’t have pictures within the merchandise. The five dolls not in the catalog all have a header design similar to Josefina’s. The rest have the new design like Julie’s. Felicity was only supposed to be in the flagship stores; I was surprised to see her in the Seattle store last year. She was cubed with Samantha and Addy. AG never did put any additional items out for Felicity, even though they would say something like we have nothing to reveal at this current time.

The inventory status of limited quantities, backordered or no longer available are on some of the historical doll clothing and accessories. 

• Kaya doll has a status of limited quantities. 
• Julie’s maxi dress, purple jacket and another outfit are gone. 
• Julie’s vanity is no longer available. 
• Melody’s birthday outfit was on sale and is no longer available. 
• These characters only have matching kid pajamas in their collection, no other matching kid clothing:  Julie, Maryellen, Nanea, and Rebecca
• Besides the doll meet accessory, these dolls only have pajamas: Addy, Samantha, Felicity (undergarments) 
• These dolls have pajamas and 2 other outfits : Josefina, Rebecca, Kaya (doesn’t have pajamas) 
• These dolls have pajamas and three outfits: Julie, Kit, and Melody (Kit’s newest outfit, overalls, is current on sale)
• Maryellen has pjs and 7 outfits. One of the outfits is a Christmas Party dress, which none of the other characters has a Christmas dress in their collection. At one time, all the dolls had Christmas dress. 
• Nanea has pjs and 6 outfits. One outfit was just taken off the website and the Birthday outfit is on backorder. 

I’ve only been an AG customer since 2013, but it seems like more recently, AG is retiring clothing and accessories more frequently and trimming down the collection. The only big retirement I remember was the best friends being archived. Felicity was never in all of the stores, but for the stores to loose that many dolls and associated items, seems like the stores are going to be empty. Wonder if they are looking empty because the collections don’t seem to be as big as they were back in 2013.
