Living A Doll's Life : *EXCLUSIVE* Interview with Tom Neville, VP

I had the honor of speaking with Tom Neville, VP of Alexander Doll Company. As a seasoned executive in the toy industry, Neville has extensive experience in sales, marketing and distribution management and partnerships in the U.S. and worldwide.

Prior to joining the Alexander Doll Company, Neville was Vice-President at Hunter Products, a manufacturer of multi-category line of toys and licensed sporting goods.

Neville began his career at Lego Toys. His other notable toy experience includes BRIK Toy Company, DSI Toys, The Canadian Group (TGC), and Excell Marketing, L.C.

Neville served as founding Co-Chair of the Toy Bank Committee for the Toy Foundation for 15 years. The committee exceeded over $100 million in donations during his tenure. Neville has also served on the Toy of the Year Award Committee for the Toy Association.

The Alexander Doll company has undergone several new changes since Tom came aboard February 2018. Here is a summation of my discussion with him about what's ahead for dolls in 2019.

The 96-year-old doll company is gearing up for many new exciting releases and celebrations leading up to their 100th anniversary in 2023.

Madame Alexander attended the 2019 NYC Toy Fair in February, showing from classic collections: 19" Newborn Nursery dolls in multi-ethnicities, classic 12" soft body Huggums, and the popular 8" Wendy collector dolls. I'm super excited that both 10" Cissette dolls and the 21" Cissy fashion doll will also make a comeback.

Currently Madame Alexander has their own brand page on Amazon where customers can shop these collections from home. Madame Alexander has always had a strong presence within specialty retailers nationwide and continues a strong relationship with Neiman Marcus.

Also coming soon in time for the holidays, will be four NEW multi-ethnic 18" play dolls with gender neutral outfits. Madame Alexander's previous successful 18" play dolls were from Favorite Friends, Play Wonder and the Disney Princess dolls.
