All Systems Go! 3 - 2 - 1 We have lift off!!
Here's a look at Luciana Vega's collection.
Book One $7.99
Get to know American Girl’s 2018 Girl of the Year, Luciana, in this
first book in her series! Luciana is over the moon—she’s going to Space
Camp! But when she’s picked to lead her team in a robot challenge,
instead of rocketing her crew to success she steers them straight into
trouble. After that, her teammates don’t trust her. In fact, Luci’s
pretty sure they don’t even like her. It’s great to be good at
science—but Luci learns that it’s not enough. If she’s ever going to
make it to Mars, she’s got to be someone her crew can depend on, no
matter what.
Book Two $7.99
In her second novel, Luciana is off to youth astronaut training camp!
She hopes to be chosen to dive to an underwater habitat where real
astronauts train for life in space. But when Luci accuses her diving
partner of sabotage, no one believes her and her chances of making the
diving team sink fast. Things hit rock bottom when Luci has an
underwater crisis. Suddenly, making the dive team isn’t her biggest
worry. She’ll have to conquer her fears if she ever wants to make it to
Mars. If she can’t, will she have to kiss her dreams of becoming an
astronaut good-bye?

May I please share these pictures on my blog with credit?
ReplyDeleteYes, you may share.
DeleteGood to know we will get a Souvineer. We are so excited. I feel really disappointed in this economy thst they would make the HABITAT cost 350 plus tax. I pray to find out that is half that price.
ReplyDeleteThe Habitat walls and partition walls look like they are plastic and fabric. The more I look at the picture of the entire habitat, the more I think it looks like it is all plastic. We will know for sure in a few days. If it turns out to be mostly or all plastic, and are charging $350, OH MY!
DeleteThank you so much!!!
ReplyDeleteLuciana is adorable! I'm really happy with the unique theme they selected this year. After last year's theme of dancing which had been used previously (Marisol & Isabelle) its nice to see one science related. Thank you for sharing these awesome pictures and info!
ReplyDeleteMy only problem is it doesn't seem like they have really based this doll on a REAL woman astronaut, and there have been plenty in space. Kathryn Sullivan, Janice Voss, Sally Ride, Ellen Ochoa, Lisa Novak, Pamela Melroy , Mae Jamieson, and the list goes on. I guess this will be a one time girl of the year, so they don't have to keep producing these expensive pieces, which make sense, and also so they don't have to pay royalties to an actual person if they base the story on someone's life. I'm glad they are selling all of the accessories seperate from the doll as I'm not crazy about the doll's purple hair but the theme is unique and very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteYou have so many points....They are very careful to make this based no real person. Wow!!!!!! Good for them. I really wish I could take home Habitat, but I got to wait and budget for it. It is a amazing collection.
DeleteAt a minimum, they could have put a section in the back of the book, with interviews. Something similar to what they have in the BF books. Maybe they did, have to wait to see the book.
DeleteWish I could go to the Debut and receive the promo t shirt, but we will have three grandsons with us and they don't share their grandmother's love of dolls.
ReplyDeleteWe wish you could too.
DeleteI love her and her collection. Probably won't be adding her to my collection, but parts of her set will be coming home. :-)

I think she's absolutely adorable and I'm as excited as a little girl to add her to my collection! Just love the white space suit! Really glad she's not another doll with a dance or gymnastics theme. Just too cute!
