If you will
remember Tammy, LADL traveling doll’s trip to Canada back in January, we are
celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday this summer. On July 1, all
Canadians will celebrate with pride, as our country celebrates the year
that our provinces came together to join the Confederation and become
one nation from coast-to-coast-to-coast. Anyways, this milestone
anniversary is being marked in so many wonderful ways—even 18-inch dolls
have gotten into the spirit of Canada 150!
I
spotted the following dolls in our Canadian Walmart just this past
weekend. They are adorable in their Canada 150 jackets! They are being
sold for the regular $34.99 price tag. I imagine they will only be
available for a short time, as they aren’t even listed online.
Not surprising, Maplelea also has a Canada 150 outfit.
Naturally,
as good Canadians do, we went to the dollar store to stock up on our
Canada Day gear—and were delighted to find tiny hats, so we had to set
up a pre-Canada Day photo shoot! Here Avery is with her newest
dolls—Sandy and Dexter, which she purchased with her own birthday money,
and Zoe—an American Girl doll that Avery’s grandmother found at a Value
Village and gifted her. Don’t they look great all decked out in their
red and white Strong and Free outfits?
The
“Celebrate Canada” festivities start tomorrow with National Aboriginal
Day and will continue until July 2, so I hope to find some more
doll-related celebrations to send along! Until then—all the best.

Gymboree has some really cute Canada Day items each year. It is too bad they don't do matching doll outfits!
ReplyDeleteSoooo true!
DeleteVery cool!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea--they aren't available online in Canada--I just happened upon them in stores. It was a nice surprise!
DeleteCongratulations to Canadians everywhere! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThe MLA dolls are awesome! The Canadian coats are really cool. Avery looks adorable decked out in her celebratory outfit and her dolls to match. I love those moments 💕
ReplyDeleteHappy Canada Day!
Thank you!
DeleteWill they have these dolls at the in the United States?
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Madelon
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYou are one pretty Girl. Happy Holiday.
ReplyDeleteAvery thanks you!
DeleteVery cute! BTW that isn't a Maplelea outfit; it's by Newberry. They are sold only by Sears in Canada at least to my knowledge. Maplelea's outfit has a white T-shirt with the 150 logo on the front, and a red skirt with a Canadian flag. I bought 2 of them! Happy Canada 150!
ReplyDeleteYes, that's the Newberry version. Maplelea has several types--regular Canada Day outfits, typical Canadian snow gear and a special Canada 150 outfit! Very cute!
