Holiday Hair! Tutorial

Earlier I referenced rose buds from Walmart and ways to wear them in your doll's hair. Here is a way to incorporate these buds in the hair mane of the curly pony tail.

I wanted to do this hairstyle because American Girl can be expensive and it is nice to have other options for dolls. Accessories brighten up doll collections, so it is especially nice to accessorize dolls when it comes to hair. That can really make collecting a lot more affordable and fun when saving up for new items.

Here is Truly Me 47 with this style. Notice the thickness of this curly ponytail. I purchased this two years ago on Cyber Monday along with the bun. Hair quality is very different from the newer ponytails.

Materials: Satin like material rose buds: Walmart has a bag of these for under $4.00. A set of small Bobby pins...any color you want.

Hope you try this fun style for the holiday season.

  1. That is beautiful! Thanks for sharing your tips. Could I put one rose bud on a bobbie pin, then tie invisible thread to that rose bud, and then tie invisible thread to the second rose bud, and keep going until I have a desired length? OR tie several threads of different lengths to the rose bud on the bobbie pin and tie rose buds to the end of those threads?

    1. It is up to you how you want to use them. I am sure that will look very pretty. You should share a picture and show off the look.

    3. I collect all kinds of dolls. Once I capture all of them in a photo I can count them.

    1. Target has them in their hair isle. Kmart had them too in brown, blonde and black.
