*RUMOR* Next Release - Maryellen and WellieWishers Rumor #4

As we wait patiently (tick tock) for the next release August 25, there will be some fun items to look forward to in addition to Melody's debut.

RUMOR has it Maryellen is getting a PINK refrigerator.
Also the WW will soon have a carriage as part of their collection and a few more outfits.

No further details at this time, we will have to wait for this RUMOR to unfold.

  1. I can only pray that these items will look...not too plastic like. With a pink refrigerator all I can see is an oversized Barbie Dream House item. I can only hope that these items will look like what buyers want. I hope it is safe to at least ask for that much.

Plus, it needs to at least have food options to have optimal play value. This will be another big item...

    1. Oh, hope you feel better Rhonda. How did I miss that you were not feeling well?! Hope the sale AG is having on Bitty Twin items and some older what I thought were retired items makes you feel a little better.

  2. A 50's style refrigerator, sounds cute, but weird, by itself, with no other kitchen appliances available :/

    1. Its weird altogether since AG is releasing a Truly Me Kitchen set. But maybe something else will be available separately like a stove, kind of like the couch and TV are separate.

  5. Hope you are feeling better Rhonda. So excited about Pink Retro Kitchen. We have 3 WellieWishers and they need a carriage to carry them all in at once and we will add Emerson soon, so that sounds exciting.

  6. Just a refrigerator seems kinda boring, so I'm guessing it's meant to go along with the diner, & probably to promote sales for the diner. I wish I could get it, but I'd have nowhere to put it. I do love Maryellen's collection though. I ordered ME & her accessories the day she was released. I got all of her outfits & Scooter for Christmas. Then recently bought her sofa & table set. Want the tv, but don't have an iPad. Want the juke box, but I think like the pink refrigerator, I'll have to pass bc I can't get the diner... dolly dilemmas

    2. Im actually making my own 1950s kitchen for my dollhouse and I would love to replace the OG wooden fridge with an actual 1950s fridge.

  7. I think the refrigerator is cool, but what purpose does it have, and what connection to the story? It is nice to show the items from that time period, my daughters enjoy seeing them.

Kit had/has the stove with canning items, the washing machine with an ironing board and clothes drying rack, and her desk and typewriter. Julie had the bleachers with scoreboard. Did Molly have theater seats, which tied into her performance? Rebecca had a trunk with costumes. These all went with the stories. I'm sure there are examples of items that didn't go with the stories.

Is the purpose of the Be Forever dolls still to educate the girls/kids about history? I have some of the cookbooks, theater, craft books that went with the historical dolls. Even those have an educational value to them, which gave those dolls a purpose. I feel like the historical are just another doll. Buy the doll then put the modern clothes on her, because we don't have a lot of clothes or accessories in that doll's line.

A few years ago, my daughter came to me with a list of items she wanted for Christmas. She had close to 10 Barbie dolls on it. I asked her why, because we don't need 10 Barbie dolls. She said I like the outfits, and they only come with a doll. This daughter was also upset when I told her they were retiring Caroline. She looked at me all serious and said that isn't true because she is Be Forever (emphasizing forever). A couple months later we were at the AG store and she told a sales associate that she was upset about Caroline not going to be sold anymore. The associate told her that it was like the Disney movies, how the movies are put in the vault and aren't sold for a while, and then come back.

    1. Molly had theater seats and a stage. I own the seats they are very nice, just like at the older movi theaters red velvet! I miss the older accessories, the small details seem to be missing from much of the beforever line. I just don't get the choices for Mary Ellen. For instance she lives in Florida. So they gave her an ice skating set, but no swim suit. I had also hoped they would make her a science kit to go with her astronaut theme. At least that would encourage girls with stem. A pink refrigerator says things like "stay at home learn to cook, it comes in pink so you know it's for girls." So frustrated...

    2. You are not alone. A girl scout uniform would be nice. Why include these themes in the story and then leave these items out off the doll's collection?

    3. Thank you! So much potential down the drain! Then the possible tribute items to Davy Crockett or the Lone Ranger, since ME loves them so much.

I'm glad to know I'm not alone. Her collection feels rushed. It feels like they gave the beggars what they wanted, the generic 1950s items.

  8. Ooh I would love that! I have a pink SMEG retro fridge myself, but agree some essential food items, and not low quality plastic are essential.

  9. I just bought the OG Kitchen from Target yesterday, and even though it is a cheap plastic its heavy and nice and includes many fun accessories. I bet the AG pink refrigerator will be almost or as much as the whole OG set! If anyone wants the OG Gourmet Kitchen, Target has it for $65 while amazon has it for $100!
