I had the opportunity to visit Laura Ingalls Wilder's home in the Ozarks.
Museum sign as we entered the parking lot of the historic site.
Me in front of the back porch.
Laura and Almanzo Wilder's home in the Ozarks - Mansfield, Mo two miles
off of US-60. This is where Laura wrote all the Little House books.
The Rock House that their daughter Rose had custom built for them for
$11,000 as a retirement home. Laura received over 1,000 cards for her
90th birthday!
A miniature pencil sharpener grinder that I bought at the gift shop for my dolls!
I also was able to see Pa's original fiddle, manufactured in 1850.
We weren't allowed to take pictures inside, but I bought a postcard! I
hope to go back again soon!

ReplyDeleteHow cool that you got to visit this historic site. I loved her books as a child and am getting ready to introduce my seven year old daughter to them. I hope she loves them, too!

ReplyDeleteHow awesome! I have never read the books, but always loved the show. I hope they put it back on tv so my kids can watch it. And I plan to read the books with them. Thanks for sharing!
