*UPDATE* Doll Room (Video)

It's the CLOSE of one year and the START of a new one! My doll room woes have begun!
  1. I am BLESSED to have a doll room.
  2. I am BLESSED to have the dolls I want and love.
  3. I am overwhelmed because "stuff" has gotten away from me.
  4. It's my fault, I need to put things away immediately.
  5. I'm not complaining, just REPORTING the ugly truth that doll collectors face.

I'm hoping to FIND a place for Melody. I've got plenty of time, but as you can see....I'm out of space (again).

I don't have any other place to put my Barbie Bookcase house. If I DID have a place, this would free up the wall. Trust me! There's no other spot to move it.

My secret doll house will stay as is.

  1. Rhonda,
This is so wonderful! I hope to have a dedicated wall for my dolls this year and your room is providing me with lots of inspiration. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Awesome doll room. I had to go another level up in my room, and it does require a stool to reach it. Is there enough space to put a structure in the middle of the room?

  3. That's exactly what I'm doing. I have an idea actually. Build a clothing rack like the ones used in stores with multiple tiers and store most clothes on it. You could then roll it around and save a bit of space. It's kind of hard to explain but if you see the concept sketches you would understand. I would build it myself, but even I don't have room in my bedroom.

  6. I know all about stuff getting away from us! You have an inspiring doll room, and your ideas for display and storage are wonderful! Don't worry, you'll get there with the "stuff"!
And regarding the kids and the four bedrooms... My grown up kid says: "Mom, there are dolls in my room!" I reply: " Yes, aren't they beautiful?" I'm blessed with a family that supports my interests... That's a wonderful thing. Happy New Year to all!

  7. Consider adding a "L" structure out to the center from one of the long sides. It can be see through or double sided and will stop you from using the middle of the room as the catch-all. I am considering doing that with my setup.

  9. Rhonda, your secret dollhouse is my absolute favorite!! It is beautiful and so fun! And I notice that you may have room to go upwards in your doll room? Why not give that a try? I have a ladder in my doll room as well ^_^.

    1. I love the secret doll house too and wish I had another spare closet to utilize. I have "considered" going up another level in the doll room, but I think I will have to install shelving. Right now the levels are mobile. It is a VERY GOOD suggestion and I will think about it.

  11. Does the area right below Grace's bakery have a specific purpose? That could be Melody's room if it doesn't...
