I'm so excited about the release of this new doll from Maplelea. Her outfits, accessories and story are just perfect for a doll from Salt Spring Island. And the other new outfits for other dolls are adorable. Everything that I have ordered from this company is of very high quality.
My daughters are excited by her colour scheme--rainbow! They just love it. My oldest also loves anything 'ocean-related', so she loves Charlsea's pjs (with the little plush starfish toy) and matching child pjs. May have to but those! Her kayak set is pretty adorable and original, too. No cheap find, but a must-have for a doll collector looking for unique doll accessories. I also for see a "farmer's market stand" in the near future!
Ginger, I also think that the kayak set looks awesome and really like the way that the paddle fits in the doll's hand!
I am so in love with this doll. I see doll plus kayak set and pjs are out of stock already. So we will keep checking back. I need to order by early November to ensure a Christmas delivery in the states. But we will get her collection. Can't wait for the farm stand. QTs has one with veggies but very pricey. Stand plus lots of veggies would run you $200 or so. But i imagine it would be a great quality with tons of play value.
Having seen AG's Lea Clark doll line now, I see a lot of similarities between Charlsea and Lea. The background story is very different, but the dolls' colour schemes are similar--bright and tropical. While Lea is a photographer enamored with animals and is on a rainforest adventure, Charlsea is an eco crusader who loves the sea and surf. They both have an "eco warrior" vibe to them. In terms of their collections, they both feature kayaks and "fruit stands"(well, Charlsea's is a farmer's market type stand, while Lea's is a smoothie bar stand). Very interesting!
Ginger, I was thinking the same thing when I saw the AG Lea Clark doll! I have Charlsea's kayak on my wish list---have just loved the quality of everything that I've ordered from Maplelea.
