DIY Victorian Hat Box - Week 4

I have enjoyed making a few hats in the past.

Now it's time to make boxes for these amazing creations to keep them dust free and well, it just looks prettier to have a stack of decorative boxes.

Here is a DIY project to house your doll hats in. Again this is a very personal craft so make what you love. You'll need round paper mache boxes. I buy mine at either Michael's or Hobby Lobby. I have seen larger ones at the Dollar Tree. You can also cut down Oatmeal boxes.

You'll also need gorgeous paper. I always look for scrapbook paper on sale, typically 2/$1 or the large packs of multiple sheets 50% off. Cut your paper to size then glue onto the box. Trim them in cording, ribbon, lace, rick rack, fringe or top them with a silk or paper flowers. The options are endless!
