*ROOM TOUR* Modern Dolls (Part 1)

After many requests (and a lot of elbow grease) I finally got BOTH doll rooms "organized" and ready for the kick off of 2015. I'll have to break this up into sections for easy viewing - otherwise it's overwhelming (for both you and for me).

Let's begin with the modern doll room (which was Snickerdoodle Street, Liberty Towne). It has 3-levels made in the same style as the other doll room. I use cardboard boxes and plastic storage drawer towers for supports. This keeps everything level and allows for doll clothing storage near the doll's rooms.

Tops/Jackets: top drawers
Skirts/Pants: middle drawer
Shoes: bottom drawer

Sissy and Sam are on the ground floor with carpeting under foot. Sissy's clothing storage is to the right.

Sam and Derek's clothing are in the storage drawers to the left.

Paige and Candace occupy the second floor. (I just noticed the puckering on Paige's wall - needs fixed).

Both share clothing storage in the storage tower in the center (which divides their rooms).

Derek is up in the "loft" atop the bookcase house.

  1. Love all the details! What kind of paint did you use to cover the lamps?

    1. I used basic acrylic paint then sealed it all with Mod Podge. I don't know what I would do without hot glue and Mod Podge!

  2. Hi Rhonda! I love your house! What is the floor on the second level made from? I love how you decorated and how spacious each room is. Can't wait too see more!

    1. Thank you Fran. The "floors" started out as shelves in an entertainment center we tossed. Contact paper covered cardboard keeps the levels even.

  3. I don't think they make contact paper like they use to...rooms look great!

  4. *From Julie's doll mom:*

Nice job! What kind of boxes did you use for Sissy's night stand? One of my New Year's Resolutions is make Danny's room. I've had the display board for months; I've just been too busy to get to it!

    1. Thanks. Sissy's night stand is made using basic 4x4" gift boxes - stacked. *hot glue* :-)

  5. How fun to see your current doll rooms. I love how you use lots of creative things to put them together. I have so much cardboard, boxes, plastic, etc. recycled in bags in my basement. Need new vision and inspiration. Oh, hate posting on my phone!
