Josefina finally arrived in perfect condition. This is my THIRD Josefina because she had wig problems and the last one had a scuffed face and wig problems.
Congrats! It's sad to think that AG went from sending out a perfect doll each time, to having to send two dolls back. I'm sorry that happened-- that's really unfortunate. Your new Josie is goregeous though!
Thanks Mia, I had to quickly box the damaged Josie up and set her aside to prevent bonding with her because I already felt it happening. I just wonder where she will end up...maybe MCM sale.
Back before Mattel, AG delivered my girls' first dolls to us. It was raining but because of the large box and not wanting it to be stolen, the courier left it at the back door. Did you catch that it was raining part? It rained for days. I confirmed with AG that it had been delivered and they discovered it was left at the back door - which we didn't use - instead of at the front door (where there is a large overhang). Needless to say, I cried opening the boxes which were soaked through. The dolls were ok so I didn't have them resend because I would have had to find packing materials and send them back before they resent them unless I re-bought them and then got a refund on the second set when I sent the first set back. It was two weeks before Christmas.
Another time, my last purchase of dolls for my girls, I had delivered to a friend's house so the girls would not see the packages. My friend called to tell me the box had been hand delivered by a stranger at 9 PM. The stranger had watched the box fall out of the delivery truck and not been able to catch the driver as he drove away so the stranger drove the box to the delivery address once he figured out where it was. The stranger recognized the shipping label and did not want any unhappy little girls for Christmas.
Gotta love the stories. Glad Josie is finally home!
Wow!!! I'm glad you got it sorted out. The wait time can be terrible. I don't know if it's nice to know I'm not the only one with Doll Troubles like yours. It'd be great to know more people came out happy and no returns. Geee it can be sooo frustrating. I went through so much to find a Marie Grace that didnt have a funny eye and/or wig problem!
I had the same thing happen with a Kit. Decided to go to the store and it was soo difficult looking for a Kit without a wig problem. I hate how they made her part, soo fake with that Silicon skin tone "sheet" they put her hair on. She almost looks like shes balding at the part. I felt embarrassed taking all these dolls off the shelf to inspect them. It hasn't been the only time, what is happening to them? I too feel bad when I have to send something back. Their Customer Reviews even mention items missing or defective.
As for the scuff marks. I just cut my losses if there are some. The Girls will play with them enough anyway, I draw the line with the eye being punched incorrectly or their wigs crooked.
In case you don't see this in my other post on the BeForever launch? I figured it was related to Josefina and somewhat here versus Aug?BeForever post.
I noticed another book in the photo AG has on their Play section. It's sandwiched in the other 2 she has. Have they simply not come out with her 3rd book/Journey because of a mishap in her new outfit for it? Just speculation....and it wouldn't be something new for them to do, But I'd sure like news on when the 3rd book comes out if anyone knows?

Yay! Thank you. AG does stand by their product and they made it right.
DeleteSo happy for you! A bit of a trial but well worth the effort it looks like. I am sure your Josie is going to have a wonderful time in her new home.
ReplyDeleteI do love her, it was worth the wait. Thank you.
DeleteI'm glad to hear that your third Josefina was perfect! It's nice to know I'm not the only one who has had issues with scuffed doll faces!
ReplyDeleteI'm completely shocked that this happens. It's almost like "something" didn't want me to have Josie LOL!!!!
DeleteYour Josie is beautiful! I have a rescue Josey and I love her too. She has such a pretty face.
