Restoring Felicity's FRIZZY Hair

My poor little Felicity...

This poor little girl's hair has been a struggle. I did a Downy Spritz but that wasn't strong enough. I ended up doing a Downy Dunk. I'll admit it made me nervous, but it is done now (I let it set over night) I have to say it is better, but not as good as I had hoped.

AFTER: Here it is drying. She has very bad split ends so I'm going to have to trim it.

The sponge rollers DID NOT work!

Here she is after a day at our "at-home doll spa"! I used Braid Spray on her hair as well and it looks so much better! Felicity is a pretty girl!!

  2. I did the boil water dunk and it worked great. The downy dunk left Kirsten and Felicity's hair oily / greasy. Their hair is more smooth (fyi it straightens the hair), and more managable. But still dry and well falling out. Both are getting new heads. They were given to dd from a friend of mine and are olders

  4. Any ideas on how to get hairspray out of doll hair? I got Felicity secondhand and her hair smells and feels like someone put hair spray in it. I have tried washing her hair already. It's not a huge problem, the hair is still manageable and seems to not get tangled as much as my other dolls' hair, and the smell is only really noticeable up close. I just want to know how to get her hair as soft as my other dolls' hair.
By the way, I got a secondhand Molly doll whose hair was relatively tangle free but felt kind of fuzzy. After simply spritzing a bit of water on it and brushing through with a wire brush, she looks almost as good as new! Would Braid Spray put the shine back in it (you know, shiny hair like you see in the AG catalogs) now that it's been brushed?

    1. Perhaps using a clarifying shampoo to help lift out hairspray residue would work. An yes braid spray makes hair shiny!!! Send in photos of your new dolls.
