My old doll GT9 or JLY9 had extremely dry hair. When I tried to dress her for holiday season I noticed that her dry hair was shedding!
Options, I could get her a new head from the AG hospital. But then she would look completely different. She brings back so many wonderful memories of my childhood that I quickly jumped to plan two...wash her hair wig and all.
I grabbed a shampoo and conditioner I knew worked well for dryness. I got this from Target. Shea Moisture is the brand. I used standard pink soft foam rollers from the dollar store. Amazing results after letting the curlers sit in her hair for twodays...dryness...gone! Just soft curls remained. I washed her bangs too since I washed down to the wig. I stood her on a doll stand so that the curls would air dry. The air helps to make sure that the wig also dries well.
Great set of products for anyone who is in a jam and needs a great smelling shampoo and conditioner that really works. For extra shine I used your recommendation the extra sheen spray for synthetic hair.
August now does not need a new head. Red and white ribbons are from Walmart.
Hope this helps anyone with an older doll.
