To get smoother bangs spray with sheen spray made for synthetic hair and once it is dry, tie a silk scarf over the doll's hair covering the bangs so they lay flat. After a day remove scarf. The bangs should be flat, shiny and ready for pictures. I will do this with my doll soon and do a review or demo.Ticiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05687829862975658146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5966560382421058464.post-3197670390750484622016-11-11T06:12:37.776-06:002016-11-11T06:12:37.776-06:00I started by watching YouTube and Living a Doll Li...I started by watching YouTube and Living a Doll Life videos on Rhonda's channel. I saw her Samantha and Molly doll hair videos. It really helped. The right shampoo and conditioner is key before styling with the spray. Some dolls just need spray while others need miracles. This is a miracle in a bottle...two bottles.Ticiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05687829862975658146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5966560382421058464.post-90627483826640185362016-11-11T06:09:02.042-06:002016-11-11T06:09:02.042-06:00If you can avoid the wig, please do. Thank you for your comment. It is nice to see what other collectors know and think.Ticiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05687829862975658146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5966560382421058464.post-25327167470909632992016-11-11T06:00:54.408-06:002016-11-11T06:00:54.408-06:00I understand about the wig. But, it can be done without getting the entire wig wet. I have heard other stories about not washing the wig, but the doll was sitting in a box for years and my parent's home has a moth ball smell near the area where they stored my dolls. It was in her wig and the scent began to consume my whole house once I brought her home with me. It was too much and it was in her hair and all in her wig, I had a reason to finally wash it once her hair began to shed. This was a dyer situation something or someone would have to go! I took a risk washing the wig, but this had to be down. This method is for anyone who absolutely has to get down into the wig due to allergens, dust, pests or pesky odors. I also have glue on hand, but did not need it. Ag hospital was my last option still is. Glad to hear your doll is better now. Older dolls and fixing them up is always risky and a project but worth it 100%. I had tried synthetic wig conditioner and braid spray, but despite restoring the shine, it needs extra strength to restore the softness. Julie's hair isn't so bad, mostly spot treatment, but my Today doll (the first edition) is 20 years old--she needs an intervention!

My only concern about washing her entire hair is her wig glue potentially losing integrity--the first Samantha I got almost three years ago got her hair a bit wet on one side, and when I went to use an AG braided headband some time later with her, IT PULLED THE WIG OFF on that side of her scalp! I have still have the glue I used to get it back in place, but oh boy, I don't want to go through that again--it kept needing so much glue!

--JenRising Starhopperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05361564418391910849noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5966560382421058464.post-86936710793436690172016-11-10T19:36:07.078-06:002016-11-10T19:36:07.078-06:00Would love to try this method.
