DIY Beach Van

I ordered this 1960’s looking orange van, on sale online from Target during one of their toy sales. This was the end of last year, in anticipation of the rumors surrounding the GOTY Joss Kendrick’s $650 van. Knowing the American Girl van would be awesome, but that I would never spend two Jeep payments on a toy, I decided to create something far less expensive and more my own.

So, paying way less than $100. and just using paints and ingenuity,
I was able to capture my version of beaches along the Pacific Coast Highway I had traveled to over the years with my kids and friends.
See for yourself (the only thing I need to change or add is the curtains, something fun on the chalkboard and maybe an octopus on the top!

I customized my OG van for Joss and her crew, in colors like her box!

Logan and Gabe are my Dillon and Liam Kendrick
(and yes, Dillon is too young to drive!)

The curtains are temporary until I replace them with new ones.As you can see, this is no longer a Food Truck, but more of a utilitarian, surfer van – made to haul people, surfboards
 and other equipment.

Hope it inspired you to create your own!

Closer LOOK at Joss Kendrick's VW Surf Bus

Let's see what these images from GMA reveal about Joss' VW Surf Bus.

First of all, her older brother Liam drives it.

There are two under seat drawers for storage, head lights, windshield wipers, honking horn, radio, idling engine (like Julie's VW Bug,) sliding door, hatchback, collapsible folding table for meals, and a rear tail gate pull out! Wow plus more than 60 play pieces like food, cooler and utensils.

Passenger seat swivels and back seat folds down.

There's a roof rack for transporting beach chairs, surf boards or bikes. It's large enough to fit on top of a dining room kitchen table.

You can also hear Joss talk about surfing.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE $650 PRICE??
WILL YOU BE ADDING THE VW BUS TO YOUR COLLECTION?

*REVIEW* Molly's Bicycle

My mother found me Molly's bicycle!

Love this!

Molly's Bicycle retailed $54 in 1998 and retired in 2005.  It was also shown on pamphlets associated to Molly's birthday collection, but not advertised as a birthday gift.

Blue and white framed bike. Working pedals and chain and hard rubber (non-inflatable) tires. Black seat and handlebar grips. Blue and white fenders on front and back wheels and a wire basket on the handlebars. Chrome storage rack over the rear tire. White stars and stripes decal on the seat post and white stars on the top tube. Elastic "toe clips" on the black pedals to keep the doll's foot in place. Attached kickstand on back wheel.

And I found Molly's 2006 Short Story at a library book sale I happened upon.

Six stories with a Looking Back section.

At the library sale I found the six book 2002 copy written Kaya set for $5.

And Rebecca's six set book set for $5.

And this 2017 book for a dollar.
