I used this $1 Spam set I got from Target awhile ago as additional market food.
I found this mini chrome shopping cart for $9.99 at World Market. It is
similar to a 1940's shopping cart someone might have used in Pono's
Market. I added the food from the Wal-Mart food basket. The pineapple
and other fruit say Hawaii to me. For $18.99 for the two sets, this
would make a fun gift set.
The wheels spin easily on the metal cart.

Very nice! I wish they still sold these. Good idea to put it with Nanea.
ReplyDeleteI think they still do sell the shopping carts. I bought three last year for 7.99 each. They only sell them around Christmas time. If I had it to do over again, I would have bought the Wal-Mart ones. Even though the Wal-Mart ones cost more, they can fit inside each other like the real carts. My World Market carts do not. Spam must have been cheap when I was growing up. We had fried Spam, baked Spam, Spam baked with bab sauce, baked with cheese on top, and chopped Spam mixed with rice. I do not buy Spam as a grown up since I seemed to live on it as a child. Lol
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ticia! It seems you have to grab things when they come in at Target. Not good for the wallet. Madelon
ReplyDeleteI love this scene. I loved spam as a kid. We ate lots of it. I used the Wal-Mart Grocery Store for Nanea and the Walmart MyLifeAs Brand Carts. For under 50, it all works well. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas Ladies.
ReplyDeleteOMG, SPAM is a blast from the past! I do still see it on the store shelves. It is called a "Meat Product" which always made me wonder what part of it was meat! It has been around since 1937 and has always been very popular, so I guess it has stood the test of time!
ReplyDeleteThose carts are really cute. I purchased some from the office products section on Amazon a few years ago. Mine are the kind that can stack into each other like Linda Reynolds mentioned in her comment.
