*REVIEW* Nanea's Holoku Dress

Gorgeous dress-it feels like rayon.

Historically accurate-just wish it came with shoes for a $34 outfit.

Beautiful print and cut to dress.

  4. Very pretty outfit. Love the colors and the way the dress sits on the doll. If AG didn't want to create shoes for this dress they could've used floral anklets to dress it up so that it meets the price point. Otherwise the lack of shoes does not bother me because of the nature of the outfit and storyline. But if we are talking price point than shoes or extra flowers would've been nice with this beautiful dress.

  5. Thank you for the closer look! $34 for a dress and lei with no shoes is a bit much for me. Will watch for sales. Thank you again!

  6. I'm sorry to sound snotty but shoes are not part of the attire. I'm glad AG historians still pay attention and sorry if some of it's patrons don't get it!

    1. Hi, Anonymous! Thank you. I was unaware that was part of the tradition. I prefer to go barefoot myself. My comment was directed at the price point.

I have not read Nanea's books yet either. If she wears the holoku for daily wear (which was one style) then perhaps AG could have added an accessory she used daily. If this dress is for a festive occasion, then perhaps AG could have added in a present for her to take to the party or wedding.

I am loathe to spend $34 on a dress for myself. The photos Madelon has shared do show the dress to be nicely made and of nice material, but to me it seems like a $24 set not $34.

Hope that clears things up on my end.
