  3. Wow! That's news...I'd love Kanani! Among other unique looks that can be created! I just bought Rebecca and #66 while they soft released the new items this week... If this is really true ..my minds blown as to how my Daughters would LOVE this option. But,... I do have to wonder that this option is coming with a price! Exclusive dolls ... From AG. It's going to me premiums...

    1. I wonder if all facemolds will be available in all skin colors? They've never had an Addy face that is a medium or light and Kanani was the only medium Asian and there was never a dark version. I don't think the Josefina mold has been done in dark either. I wonder if you design it there and get it there because putting eyes in and getting them point in the same direction is a PAIN and you would have to wait for the glue on the wig to dry. But I would drive up to NYC to do this for sure.

    2. Hey Mollymonster. I just wanted to let you know that there is an Addy face mold with medium skin. She's #26. Also there was another that was retired years ago, which we own. She's #11.

  4. Finally! I've been wanting a certain set of features on a doll that don't exist together. But I wonder if you can customize it with removable undies...

  5. Wow!! I'm just so overwhelmed as it is. This is cool, but AG is changing so much so fast, & not all for good. I'm hoping to order Melody & #65 before they have pink bottoms. I'm trying to save up for several of the BeForever outfits that were just released. I'm planning to be ready for Nanea in the fall. Now I'll be dreaming of going to NY too. Probably a good thing that it's not likely for me to make it there though. I am so indecisive!! It would take me all day to design one doll. I think this hobby is getting too stressful for me... lol

  6. Yes I would love to have a Somali. She is so expensive on eBay. However I don't think this will be cheap. If American Girl goes with sewn on undies I am out.

  7. I heard a rumor going around that it could cost up to $75 or more extra for this service

  8. So in a nutshell AG will charge more for producing a cheaply made doll and charge more than other manufacturers of the same quality and then charge even more for a quality made doll like they used to produce. So that explains the permanent underwear on thinner material fabric for the torso and lower quality hair on their dolls. Now in order to get a nicer doll customers will now have to pay more. Hmmm...

    1. I'm still waiting to receive Logan through the mail. (Drats to holiday shipping delays) I was not expecting lesser quality materials for the torso, but I've heard it's awful/disappointing.

Having bought several different brands of dolls around the $100 range in the past couple of years, I felt confident in recommending AG dolls to people and how they were well worth their price. :/

It's frustrating that I now have to go back to all those people and warn them and tell them that all the great things about AG dolls no longer apply.

I really dislike what AG has done to the dolls. If I didn't have to worry about the quality of the doll, I would wholeheartedly agree that a custom AG would be worth $225, especially if assembled here in the States. I remember how much we loved the process for our MyTwinn dolls.

  9. This could be very interesting. One of the comments on instagram mentioned if the molds are still only available in limited vinyl color Than it may not be as interesting as we'd like. There is a huge opprotunity here for them to get truly custom. For instance Jess mold in medium skin or Addy in light.
