I found these at Staples. These little notebooks were only 50 cents
each. They are a good size for 18 inch dolls, but would probably be too big to fit into a doll backpack.

The notebooks open so you can insert more paper (blank paper is already in it). The front of the notebook has a window pocket. You can take out the paper already in there, turn it over and personalize your notebook by printing your name, or putting a sticker on the paper , drawing a picture or putting on a subject, as History, etc.
I thought this was well worth the price!
