Getting excited!! Possible BF outfit / prototype for Felicity. We have heard rumors of her return for quite some time....the tag DOES say American Girl!
Its not an full outfit. The white piece is thin like a slip. The flowered piece looks like a corset. And that a bustle? I don't think its a head piece. But Why would a 9 year old be wearing a bustle? I really am excited for her return, but these piece don't make a lot of sense. Will wait to see more.
I took a class in historic dress. Girls out of the toddler dress outfit would have worn a corset. And the bustle would be there to help support the weight of the skirts. Normally would have been boning of some sort, I don't get this pad thing.
The 'bun' thing to me looked like it was shaped to go around the body. After doing some searching I found a webpage that calls it a Bum Roll. I didn't fully read the information, but believe it is used to flare out the skirt. The section on Bum Rolls and Farthingales is about midway down the page. http://www.fashionintime.org/history-womens-hooped-petticoats/
The white thing is a shift that all women/girls would have worn under their clothes. The flowered thing I believe is a set of stays that again all women /girl would have worn (I believe PC had a set of stays for Lissie). And the other thing is a bum roll, that would be worn under the dress for a little flare. It is very historically accurate for Lissie's time. The whole thing looks to be an undergarment set. Very excited for the possibility of Felicity's return! H.M.
This is definitely an underwear set. The shift is identical to her and Elizabeth's shifts pre retirement. Yes that is a bum roll not a headdress. The ribbons tie around her waist with the pad at the back to make her skirt fuller. The flowered piece is a set of stays, which colonial children wore starting in toddlerhood. Felicity had a set of stays under Pleasant Company, but they were off white. Rosie
If the rumor is true. I want a totally different Felicity. I want a Marie- Grace Mold Felicity. Personally I think a Marie-Grace Mold doll Looks more like the actress in the Felicity movie.

I have seen this type of headress before. It is nice that AG is offering more pieces to accessorize outfits.
