Here is a look at #54 and the bun or hive if placed on top of her head correctly.
Melody will have shoulder length hair so these are some additional styles for her to sport with her 1960s glam.
Notice the uses of the double bows. Walmart has an excellent selection of ribbon and yarn for these styles. My two dolls Marnie and Jacee came with these adorable pink headbands. These are ribbon, therefore they will not be hard to replicate.
Since Melody will have a couple of hats in her collection, I could not resist adding this flowery hat. I saw this musical where two women had hats with flowery print on them.

Wow the hat will actually match her peplum dress really well!
ReplyDeleteWow! I did not even notice that detail. This set was for the Gotz doll collection sold at Pottery Barn Kids. I have noticed that a lot of doll companies are offering pieces that coincidentally match American Girl pieces. Which is great for buyers, but sad that American Girl did not think to create a matching set. I think Pottery Barn Kids still sells this outfit. I got it during the Christmas and holiday sales. For me it was a Christmas gift for my Maya doll.
DeleteMy mother wore a beehive haircut in the Sixties. Good memories! Madelon
