This outfit is perfect for Maryellen's school days! Just like many outfits for girls in the 1950s, it includes:
- A purple gingham dress featuring a mock blouse with a Peter Pan collar and black necktie, three button accents, and a black sash
- A black headband with a bow to hold back her hair
- White bobby socks
- Black Mary Jane shoes
This outfit is much cuter in person!
Not a big fan of the generic black patent Mary Jane's. Saddle back shoes would have been much better.
I love the layered look of the "blouse" underneath.
It DOES require a crinoline under.

Youthful is the perfect adjective, and I totally agree about the saddle shoes. I can't remember--do saddle shoes come with any of the other outfits (they really should along with Ked type sneakers)? I'm off to check.
