*Opening* Retired Doll Marie Grace

I know, I know.

My previously owned MG

You may be asking why I bought another Marie Grace after having previously owned her.

A friend of mine was downsizing and offered me Marie Grace. I couldn't pass her up, I realized MG (face mold) was missing from my collection. I love to see how other collectors dress her modern.

I am going to have her be modern and rename her, Paige.

  1. She really is very pretty and looks great as a modern girl.

  2. Paige...is she gonna be Saige's fraternal twin sister? If you did that, you wouldn't have to make her another doll room, just add a bed to Saige's "casa".

    1. Julie, she actually may end up as Candace's younger sister. They look a lot alike. And poor Saige her casa only sleeps one. Paige will eventually have her own space.

  3. I love the name Paige! She's so cute, I wish I could've gotten her before she retried. :(

  6. I adore Marie Grace! When I went to AG Place to pick out a doll for the first time (I'd only previously purchased on-line), I didn't like her face mold and ended up with Kit instead. But when I heard they'd be retiring Marie Grace and Cecile, I gave it a second thought and jumped in. Haven't regretted it. She is definitely not typical AG, but she's gorgeous in her own way! Have fun with her!

    1. She is a must (right now) for collectors for her face mold alone! But she is versatile and I love her modern.

  7. I was like you, I wasn't all that in to MG, but then she grew on me as I saw her on other doll blogs as a modern doll. I got her just before she retired, and was so glad that I did, she has the prettiest face. Something about it is so much more feminine looking than some of the other dolls. I've only gotten as far as taking the braids out of their up do, haven't gotten brave enough to take them completely out just yet. I'll be curious which method you use to straighten her hair.

    1. I used a ceramic hair straightener, but you can do a hot water treatment too.

  8. Rhonda - You're Paige is wonderful ! I'm actually in the process to finding an Auburn wig for my Marie-Grace or actually send her to the dollhospital for her uneven/poorly shaped eyes ( she looks like the original asian doll meets marie-grace )

I actually renamed my Marie grace 'Amaya Marie"
