*NEWS* BEFOREVER Link on AG Website

The Fall AG catalog will be out next week sometime. If you have recently placed an order you may have already gotten a new catalog in your shipment.

There is a BEFOREVER website link on the back of the catalog, but it isn't active as of yet. My guess is that it could be a game area and a place to watch the previous posted BEFOREVER videos, as it is far too early to have anything real significant prior to the official launch. (This is only a guess).

We have to wait until the winter catalog to see the new BEFOREVER items along with the new meet outfits for MyAG and any holiday items.

*******************

Now from the RUMOR mill!
RUMORED items to look for within Samantha's BEFOREVER collection include:
  1. Her dog, Jip
  2. A new Victorian style half canopy bed

*Note: This is NOT the bed, but an image for example purposely only.

If this is true - a new bed for Samantha - that means my Nellie will be given Samantha's Brass bed and I will buy the new bed for Samantha!!! (Exciting)

RUMORED items for Julie currently on endangered list include:
  1. Calico outfit
  2. Floral jumpsuit
  3. Holiday dress
  4. Swimsuit

  1. A turquoise typewriter? Uck. While they may have existed back then, I think it's a mistake to "Barbie" her collection. The original black one looks so much better. Is Kit's entire line going to be turquoise and hot pink based?

  2. *From Julie's doll mom:*

Ok, so upon looking at this typewriter, I pull out my vintage 1971 Spiegel Christmas catalog and guess what? This typewriter looks really similar to the ones from the early 70s. I think the original typewriter is more period appropriate. I could get this one for my (doll) kids. (If I can afford it!)

    1. I know. I researched and these turquoise typewriters were mass produced beginning 1920s and had variations through the decades. The one used as close up example is mid century.

  3. I am getting a package tomorrow so we will see!

  4. *shrugs* Well, if the typewriter is actually true to the time period, it works for me. As a matter of fact, I feel pretty certain that I've seen more turquoise typewriters (in that very antiqued turquoise shown, NOT modern MyAG turquoise) than I have black ones. I really like Kit's black typewriter, but I like this one too!

  7. Is it me or is Kit's new typewriter matchy-matchy with her new meet outfit? Same colors! I think it's cute, but perhaps not completely historically correct. I think "historically inspired" is a loose enough description to cover this (and many of the other forthcoming Beforever items). I'm not a stickler for those things overall, and I do believe that AG must adapt to survive in the market. I'll bet there will be lots of stuff we like, and some that disappoint. Either way, it is exciting to think about!

  8. If Samantha's new bed is like that, I will totally be purchasing it! However, depending on the price, I'm not sure when. I will be purchasing Samantha though, I love her so much. :)

  9. ugh..... I think this is the latest I've ever seen a "fall" catalog come, which is funny, considering it's July. Hopefully the mailing list catalogs will be for July 2014, not fall, (because AG considers fall to be at the time of summer) so BeForever can come in a catalog around the actual time it's released in a September catalog.

  10. I'm not fond of the typewriter. I bet that's now surprise to anyone. I too did a search on Superior typewriters circa 1930 and did find one similar to one on the design desk, so I'm not too put off. However, the color they used is too bright. This would have been in an office...the colors shown in my search are not nearly that bright.

While I prefer the earlier black typewriter (as more authentic) it would not be out of the question to think that Kit's original one broke and that her great uncle gifted her with a new fancy one. Or that she won an award from the newspaper which was a new typewriter.

I ordered the cello set, so hopefully I will get a fall catalog in that.

  11. They need to keep the typewriter black, it looked so much better that way and so much more realistic!

  12. Not sure what I think about "bright colors" sometimes history HAS to be dull. I thought the historical collection was *nearly* perfect. Reminds me of journey girls.

  13. I like the black typewriter better at this point. Melody, I ordered the Cello set too. We should have a concert!

  16. I love the typewriter, and I'm glad that furry little rascal will be back (just keep him away from dress-up parties!)

  17. I figured many of Julie's clothing were in trouble. I better get busy ordering. Makes me wonder about Kit, too.

  18. If Samantha's bed is going to look like that, it reminds me of the NOLA bed!
