*In Store Report* Visit to AGP - Boston and Tyson Stores

Madelon's husband and daughter visited AGP Boston yesterday. They kindly stopped in to take pictures. Here is the Nola display. It contains the parlor table.

Madelon wanted to get the Easter egg set before it sold out, so today she stopped at AGP Tyson's. She said Ruthie's name IS on her AG boxes. And she took these pictures for me of Julie in her VW. (Eeeeek! So cute)

Thank you Madelon.

  1. I was just at AGP Chicago today! It was a brief stop, but I checked on the NOLA girls. Nothing appeared to be sold out just yet. Their display case was so empty, though, compared to the ones next to it (Josefina's and Julie's). The minis were still 50% off, along with the Caroline mini and Lanie's two books. I'm super worried that I won't be able to snag the NOLAs in time. I also saw, among other things, Julie's car. I didn't look too hard, because I was on a mission, but it looks like the canopy doesn't go up. I don't think the doors open either.
Another observation: Isabelle seemed to be doing relatively poorly. It's spring break in my area, so there were a lot of little kids, but it looked as though there were the same number or more of kids buying historicals and MyAGs as buying her. And I didn't see much of anybody buying her (slightly overpriced) mix and match sets. Just saying.

    1. Well no wonder, she is $120. Parents could also not be in favor of Isabelle because of the pink hair, plus her $275 "studio."

Yes, you are correct. Julie's car does not have doors that open, nor does the canopy move. I don't even thing it has seat belts. *gasp*

Have you also noticed that there are not a lot of outfits that come in square boxes anymore? I don't have any square boxes of MAG clothing, and I have 2 rectangle boxes of historical clothing. It is kind of interesting...

  2. I didn't see Ruthie and Kit's display, but all the other dolls I saw had names on their boxes.

  4. Is that a mini Caroline set-up in the background of the first picture? It looks it, but I can't imagine they'd make all that mini sized stuff and not offer it for sale.

    1. No it's just the scale of the photo. That is Caroline's display in background.

  5. Hi! I'm still catching up for being really far behind, but I noticed the above commenters and had to add.
First, Madelon, love the pictures. Any visit to an AG store captured is great for me who has yet to visit one.
Second, Julie's time period is 1974...seatbelts were not mandatory back then. If there are any in her VW they would be lap belts only. (I love her Beetle, but find it a little unnerving that a 10 - 12 year old is behind the wheel driving.)
Third, the shape of the box depends on how much is inside of it. Plus, it is my humble opinion, that 1) it looks like you are getting more when you receive a full rectangular box and 2) customers who store items in the boxes complained that the square ones take up too much space.
    Best wishes to all.
