For Samantha’s birthday, Uncle Gard gives her this fine doll carriage, called a pram
at the turn of the century. Now Samantha can push both her beautiful
porcelain doll and her new teddy bear through the park on sunny
afternoons. As Uncle Gard would say, “Won’t they look dandy?”
Named after America’s president,
“Teddy” Roosevelt, teddy bears were very popular in 1904. Samantha’s is a
birthday gift. He’s 5½ inches tall and made of real mohair, just like
the original ones. Plus, his arms, legs, and head move, and he comes
with a perky pink bow around his neck.
