*On Location* Kaya - Columbia River, Washington State

Kaya’s next stop is Sacajawea Park in Paso, WA.

The Lewis and Clark Expedition camped at this park on October 16, 1805. It is also were the Snake River and Columbia Rivers meet. Kaya’s last place Kaya visited was on the Snake River.

There is a dugout canoe on display.

This is the Columbia River. I was told, back before the dams were put in the Columbia River, that the Indian tribes were able to walk across to the land on the other side. Standing at the point of the park, reference the park map in a previous picture. The Snake River runs under the railroad bridge, and then meets the Columbia River.

  1. That was very interesting! I didn't know the canoes could be that big.

  2. I grew up in nearby Walla Walla so these places are very familiar to me. Glad you got to visit. In a week we will be headed to family reunion at Chief Timothy Park near Clarkston, WA. also on the Snake river and we drive through the Nez Perce reservation to get there.
