How to Make Samantha's Gaiters - Week 4

Supplies:

• Thick fabric (wool, suiting, corduroy) - or felt
• Thin velcro
• 1/2" wide ribbon or elastic
• Needle/thread
• Scissors

Directions: (pattern is per gaiter)

1. Cut fabric out using the pattern.
2. Sew part A together with good sides together.
3. Open up flat with bad side facing up.
4. Iron raw edges (B and C) under 1/4".
5. Sew straight stitch.
6. Open up flat with bad side facing up.
7. Iron raw edges under 1/4" each side of D.
8. You may choose to sew a piece of velcro for closure, or elastic for stretch onto part D.
9. Place gaiter over your dolls foot with shoe on, measure a piece of ribbon or elastic to fit under the shoe. Sew the strap onto the under side of C on both sides of gaiter. 
10. Decorate the outer gaiter with small buttons or round pieces of felt.
11. *Optional if using felt - cut pattern down by 1/4".
12. No ironing is required part B, C and D - follow other instructions.
