In answer to your concern about the cookie cutters not being metal, I have those exact red plastic cookie cutters that were my grandmother's from the '50s. Pretty much the entire Christmas accessory set was how my grandmother decorated her home for Christmas.Besides the couple of sizing issues I thought this Christmas set was adorable and accurate Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5966560382421058464.post-56284103597685057172016-09-20T15:46:37.053-05:002016-09-20T15:46:37.053-05:00I love Maryellen's Christmas stuff. I do not think the company thought about how the two would look side by side or together when they manufactured them. Both sets are very cute and I prefer the cookie set with the pretty tray if I had to choose one. In my home, we have the dolls hang out with us when making Christmas cookies and treats. It's nice to see that MaryEllen will have her own to make and enjoy too. The red ones seem to put the most DETAIL into the cookies. They're a lot of fun on the rare occasions I make cutout cookies with detail.
