Hmm....it is very pretty! However, I'm a little puzzled why AG keeps changing their outfits....
First of all, I love that new outfit, & I really hope that buying another doll won't be the only way for me to get one. As for the boxes, I guess it's an okay change since I don't keep them anyway. If it turns out to be true that the perma panties aren't to continue in production, then the AG quality just may be redeemed in my eyes.
I sure hope so too. Diminishing sales after this summer should hopefully bring alarm to the CEO of Mattel
I agree with you. I want the outfit, hoping they have for Girls to match. But, I don't want another American Girl Brand Doll with Perma Panties, Our new Z has to have her pants and skirt slid bsck up all day, they slide down too easy with The new situation. No Perma Panties.
i agree with Rebecca and hope I can get the dress and jacket anyway without having to buy the doll if it has permapanties as the only option. ive also seen pics where the shoes are all hard plastic covered in glitter, not a fan of that. the box looks nice just hope the plastic front is sturdy enough not to touch the dolls face
I don't want glitter to get on my dolls, & I'd hate for AG to start making their shoes entirely plastic as the cheap brands do. That would be their worst mistake yet.
Its true and is definitely a huge mistake
I agree with both of you. No Perma Panties, no plastics shoes.
I agree, the outfit is very charming. I prefer it by miles to that older TM Meet outfit that had the pink top with the babyish onesie shoulders and the grey skirt (two of my dolls came with that ... the skirt is fine, the color combination is alright but the sleeves of that top make it unwearable - at least for my dolls). At the same time, I don´t like perma-panties, or glitter (let alone glued glitter) on shoes and outfits and certainly don´t expect either in a doll of AG´s price class. So - not buying until I find it second hand, cheap.
I read one AG blog that said the new Truly Me outfits will roll out in June. Also read that the new roll out will include the permapanties. Does anyone have any information about that? I also read the shoes are hard plastic. M
Not liking the box or the plastic shoes. I don't mind buying an Our Generation doll for $25 with plastic shoes as I think that is a fair price for what I am buying. I think American Girl is looking for non-American-markets to be their new profitable source. They obviously don't seem to listen to the many vocal comments against their current decisions. Who would think American Girl would use plastic shoes on their TM dolls. Plus I don't think that outfit flatters all the dolls. Madelon
I agree with you Madelon. We all have enough to kerp us occupied till they figure of their mistakes. I did not purchase any item since getting all if Z Collection. I am still shopping just not there. Z helped them big time. She forced us to accept the perma panties. But I don't think it will happen again for my Family.
The older outfits had more...whether it was a skirt, sweater, tights and shoes or jacket, shirt, jeans, shoes and socks or shirt, cropped jeans and two toned flats with a bow, but now I am not quite sure this set is a quality set. Even with the last set the dress was thick and had texture due to the attached belt. The shoes were a nice material with black soles. With this new set the jacket looks really tight which means it may not fit older AG dolls. I am curious if this outfit will have accessories? The dress looks cute but I am not happy with plastic shoes. Not sure I will even consider this since AG is getting more and more expensive and is cutting corners on new dolls. A lot will need to change by getting rid of permapanties, nicer wigs and no plastic or shoes made of cheap plastic.
The outfit itself is cute but i am pretty much done with AG, their quality keeps going down and prices going up. Which is sad because I have actually like a few of the things they have done recently if they had been better quality or different materials. My mom and I have been buying my daughter and nieces a new AG doll for the last 4 yrs for christmas but we are planning to get them a maplelea doll this year, I just can't take the chance of spending so much for a funky doll.
I LOVE IT! Apart from the shoes :| The box and permpanties suck...but AG just announced that they are changing the boxes back tot he older ones and to removable panties! YAY :)
I think the new outfit is adorable. The shoes are terrible. I saw a close up of them on Instagram and yuck! Very cheap looking and very sparsely glittered.I'm curious what the accessories will be with this outfit since the jacket is already included.
I'm not impressed with the box at all, but the outfit itself will be a welcome and relieving change from AG's usual pink or purple.
