*REVIEW* Gabriela Time for Change - Book

Gabriela Time for Change is the latest book in the Gabriela Girl of the Year series. Set in present day Philadelphia, this novel takes place around Halloween. Gabriela tries to strike a balance between friends new and old, her leadership position at school, passion for poetry, and her waning desire for ballet. Author Varian Johnson does a great job handling these topics in a relatable way.

Creative Poetry is interspersed effectively throughout the book. Gabriela's voice comes through strongly.

This was a fun Fall read.  There was even a trick or treating chapter which is fun for Halloween enthusiasts.  I recommend this.

  1. Thanks for the review.

My daughters have wanted the Gabriella books, and I have put off the purchase, anticipating that the set would show up in Costco with the mini doll. Looks like I need to get on with purchasing the books. Sure wish AG did a better job advertising Gabriella. I did see somewhere a comment about the AG clothing in Kohl's and that person wondered why AG didn't put Gabriella/AG clothing in Kohl's.

    1. If you look for a little better price point on Gabbys books, go to the Scholastic Book Store, should be $7.99 instead of 9.99 We had them sell out at Our Schools Book Fair Last Year at thst lower price point.

    2. They could have done so much more with Gabriela. Since she is supposed to last more than a year, maybe she will get some more nice items. I hope. Madelon
