She has held up well over the years.

  1. Molly is such a cute doll. Her collection always intimidated me as a child because it was so spot on with WW II. I just remember seeing her in all the catalogs with her paper dolls, jump rope, birthday cake, roller skates etc. Thinking back now it was just a really good doll collection. I was able to buy her in 2014 finally as a last option to salvage what was left of the Mattel version collection. Then years later I found a white body Molly in an Estate Sale. I was shocked to see her for $45 in perfect condition no clothes and loose limbs but great condition. She was a steal and looka similar to yours. I now have a new appreciation for her and Pleasant Company. She looks so different from my 2014 Molly. I love the differences and similarities between the two dolls. Miss her older collection which was also up for grabs but I did not see it until it was already sold. Now I wish I had asked my parents for her things sooner so I would've had a chance to own the quality pieces. Now I just look at Molly and smile at all the memories she held. Thank you for sharing. Love her dress too. It fits her time period so well.

    1. That's a great find, Ticia!!

I found a white-bodied Addy for my niece last year for $40. I couldn't believe it.

I always wanted Kirsten's winter outfit set; that was always my favorite.

    2. Thank you, I was surprised myself. I know Felicity had a beige body and she came before Addy, but you are the second person to mention a white body Addy. I did not even know Addy was made in Germany for her prototype along with her dress. I wish Pleasant Rowland did a book of the creation of Pleasant Company to clear up any urban legends. American Girl has books out but they seem to lack a lot of facts concerning the early years.

  2. Thank you Ticia! I am on the hunt for her early collection, and Samantha's. 2017 has not been my favorite year for American Girl. I am so glad you were able to find her for $45. I agree that her collection was really good -including the stories. It is hard to find her early pieces. I look on EBay, but they are expensive and you can't tell exactly what they look like. There are too many savvy doll shoppers in Maryland! Madelon

  3. My Kirsten says hi to your Molly!! Molly's in great shape! Did you restring/stuff Molly? My Kirsten can't really stand on her own anymore, her legs have gotten very loose and her stuffing is pretty smooshed from many years of loving.

    1. Same here with my white body Kirsten. Does the AG hospital restuff? That would be a nice service.

    2. No, this is the way she came. I got lucky! Madelon

    3. Ticia - that'd be nice if they did! I think they just do replacements though. She could use a good restringing and restuffing, which seems easy enough to do. It's the removing the head part that makes me hesitate, lol.

Madelon - your Molly is wonderful!! I always liked Molly. If I had gotten another doll as a child it would have been her.

  5. Thank you Madelon.

My daughters and I love all the older collections. They would love to have Kit's treehouse, and Molly's camp.

    1. I have been on the hunt for Kit's treehouse and Molly's tent for a long time. I can't imagine the shipping on the treehouse. Madelon

    2. Kit's treehouse has been surfacing a lot on Craigslist lately in the NY/NJ area. Some are expensive but I've seen some for $100-125.

  8. Hi there! I came upon your site as I am trying to do some research on what my AG dolls are worth. I have a white bodied Molly and tons of her accessories (trunk, desk, lunch, outfits galore). I also have Kirsten and Samantha. Does anyone know of an honest place to sell them? I have no clue as to what they are truly worth...Thanks for any help you can give.
