*In Store Report* WellieWishers - Target

WellieWishers have arrived at one of my local Target stores. The new packaging makes it very easy to see the items from several angles, but it takes up a lot of space, especially on the larger items.

The packaging may need a redesign for the dolls though. I noticed that several of the dolls had scuffs on their noses, so the dolls are not properly protected in their new packaging.

Also found a new OG accessory set I have not seen before.

  1. I know this may be an unpopular opinion but I actually like the clear front packaging of the Wellie Wisher dolls. I feel like it fits with the target age range. Its too bad that their noses are getting scuffed. Maybe AG will make the boxes a little deeper in the future so that won't happen? I'm not a fan of clear front boxes for the 18" AG dolls but I really do like it for the Wellie Wishers.

    1. Agreed. Its awful for the 18" dolls. The WW box design is very cute. I like the whole body being visible, and the wood/branch design is sweet. Scuff marks are not! A slightly deeper box may help. Something. I'd like for them to do well, they really are great doll for young kids.

  2. Thanks for this report. I'll look for them on my next trip...any excuse to go to Target. I noticed them at Toys R Us on a recent trip, too. They're popping up everywhere it seems.

  3. We have hot 3 Targets in Houston. No WellieWishers yet. But we melted today to see the WellieWishers Megablocks at American Girl Doll Place Houston Store today.

    1. The WW Mega Bloks look awesome! Our Target stores didn't have them. They were recently on sale at TRU for 25% off, to coincide with the Mega Bloks in-store build event last Saturday.

  4. No Wellie wishers at the Quakertown Target. Was there the other day. I agree the plastic front boxes for WW seem to work for that target market. Will fit with the other 14 inch dolls. They need to stand out. I do hope they secure them better to save the noses. Although as all of my girls have fallen during photoshoots a scuffed nose WW would fit in with my crew.
