  1. Wow! The new mix and match will look great on Kanani or Lea. I am loving them slumber party set and new pjs. Since Gabriella is said to be a tap dancer got the sparkly jazz outfit on sale and holiday outfit for Wellie Wishers doll. Can't wait to see more. Thank you for sharing these pictures!

  2. The DC store is our store. We can't wait to go and see everything in person. The colorful mix and match lacy outfits look reminiscent of the 1980s. Fun stuff! Great pictures. Thanks for sharing!

  3. See Melody Record Studio 40 off 1 day after Christmas is extremely upsetting. That is a lost of 108 for me. Almost enough to buy Gabby or add her Table and Bingo Set while it too is on sale. They protect the value of MaryEllen's Dinner after her release for atleast a year and it is even protected now with a exclusion from the 40% off Sale aswell as her other important newly released items. These sales are great for many and simply destroy the value of the merchandise for people who purchase them when they are introduced. If they are going do these sales after Christmas they should exclude August releases.

    1. Maxine, I agree. It makes me feel bad for all of the shopping done before Christmas without benefit of the massive markdowns. One day it is full price, the next day it is slashed, What is the "value" of the items we treasure to Mattel? Madelon

    2. Thank you for posting the pictures of the new outfits. I appreciate seeing the items. I get a better idea of what it is like from these pictures rather than the catalog or online pictures. I saw the Lea items marked down in the Canadian bookstores (on their website), but not at Kohl's. I've been waiting for mark downs online, so I can pick up some of Lea's outfits. I don't want to pay full price, then see the items marked down, but then I run the risk of not getting it at all. I've lived this long without the item, I can survive. For me it is more what AG says that gives me the impression that they are trying to give everyone the same experience, but then they do things that excludes people. I try so hard to bite my tongue and just be thankful, but it is so hard. Being at Berry level, I feel unappreciated as a customer, that my money isn't as good as someone elses, because they live closer to the store. I'm in other retail store reward programs and this is the only retailer that treats me like junk in the trunk, after spending $700 +. I don't spend much at Williams Sonoma or Pottery Barn, but they will at least send a 20% off purchase coupon in my e-mail. I have reached the higher level with Eddie Bauer, and I get treated very nice, they act like my choice to spend money in their store or online is important to them. AG comes across as looking for as many people to pay full price, and reduce the price only when it is in their benefit. My recollection of prior years was that there was always an in-store after Christmas sale, but not like this sale. The online customers get 'Joy to Every Girl'.... pay full price. I am thrilled for those that are able to get items on sale.

    3. Sorry Maxine. I do agree that this is off putting for before Christmas shoppers. These products are hit or miss. The fear is real because one never knows when AG will pull the product all together before shoppers can afford to buy it. It creates this need to buy now pressure rather than wait for a sale that may never come. My budget is for new items in January so Melody products will have to wait even though the prices are down. I just cannot afford to keep guessing on when to buy and when to wait anymore.

    4. Ariel2Belle, I too feel that in-store sales exclude a majority of the customers. You made a valid point that sales of this nature are not inclusive. That is contrary to what AG says it is trying to do. If the company is concerned that people will buy too many of an item online, they could just limit the number of items you could buy. It seems wrong to have an item like Melody's $250 recording studio go down to $150 the day after Christmas. Why not offer refunds for those who purchased it at full price during December? Madelon

    5. Losing out on $108 is a hard pill to swallow! I'm so sorry, Maxine. It's so frustrating to pay full price for something, then see it soon after at a much lower price - and not be able to get your money back. Though for $108 I would be tempted to lug the studio back to AGP Houston to return and rebuy at 40% off.

    6. arielle2belle - I would LOVE to get in on some of those sale items as well! The camping set for $25?! That's a great, affordable price. And at 40% off, I could afford Melody's adorable travel accessories.

      Madelon - I'm shocked at the 40% off Melody's world. That's surprising.

    7. It surprised me, too. They must be expecting a large new line of merchandise. Madelon

  6. I really do not feel that sales destroy the value of the original item. The value is the what someone will pay. Usually that is the original retail value and then when it is not sold anymore then the value goes up. American Girl closed their outlet for the sales, so now the sales are spread out to the stores which I think is great. Sharon

  7. Oh this makes me so upset! Were these sales sent out to everyone? I would have driven to get some of the last things I needed for Lea... I too am always wondering whether to buy or not! It's been crazy these past 2 years with the random sales. I thought I was upset with all of Caroline's things going on sale ... Anyone that got Melody items must be ticked and just what is on sale for Maryellen's collection if so many items have been excluded?! .....I guess I will be holding out on Anything Maryellen after seeing this... It's just really frustrating to see this. Many of us work hard for our money then to spend it on things for our girls only to see it go on sale after purchasing it.... That's time they've taken away from us! One can't get that back and it becomes more cherished as we get older...
What has happened to this company? I've been wondering for the last year and a half, it really is making me look at other options now
