*REVIEW* BF Josefina's Navidad Outfit

I purchased this new outfit for Josefina. $34.00

The dress is a beautiful deep indigo blue with made of a checkered print. The waste is high with a ribbon trim. The shoulder has pretty ribbon detailing also.

Unfortunately, this outfit does not come with pantaloons just socks as stockings of the 1820 period along with black shoes with a little heel.

Fortunately like the 1st Christmas outfit it does come with a mantilla and a beautiful comb headpiece.

It is white with holly and berry embroidery.

Highly recommend this outfit. Miss the old one dearly because you get more for a lesser price, but this one is newer and a pleasant addition to Josefina limited line of clothing AG now offers.

My father found this Josefina at an antique shop for $30.00. She did not come with any of her clothes and has a tiny scrape on her nose.

I styled her hair and wrapped her braid with a white ribbon from...you guessed it, Walmart.

Eventually I will purchase a new meet outfit for her, but in the meantime this one will do nicely.

    1. Thank you. I hope AG creates more items for the Josefina collection. This dress is not like the older version, that had the pantaloons which were adorable.

    1. Thank you. I love that she has the older, fuller face. Her hair was in great condition for an older doll.

    2. When I saw the outfit in the store it reminded me of Rebecca's color scheme. I, too, love her older fuller face. Madelon

  3. I also have an older Josefina with a PC neck stamp, and she must be one of the earliest, as I have a difficult time getting some skirts on her. I fell in love with her story and collection when she was first introduced. Unfortunately there was no way for me to save up for another doll back in 1997. I finally got her with her necklace and rebozo on eBay as a birthday/Christmas present two years ago. The only part of her outfit I didn't have was her hair ribbon and flowers. Her hair looked perfect and in its original braid.

The pantaloons are popping up on eBay for much less than they used to in price, if you want to seek them out. I've also seen the outfit with the pantaloons, but missing other pieces like shoes and the mantilla for very low prices now. Her original meet outfit can be found for a song, if you prefer it. Just...don't wash the skirt. The AG clothes are said to not run and stain the dolls, but oh did that red run and stain the lace trim (her skirt had a couple spot stains and yellowing on the trim). Also stained the mesh of my clothes rack. A note of caution.

    1. Congrats on your doll! I wash her clothing in Woolite. I hand wash them and then hang dry them for two days just to make sure they are completely dry. I just fished reading Josefina Saves the Day and it was the best in the Saves The Day series of America Girl books. The only thing I am completely bummed about is that her major accessories from her stories are retired. The tortoise, flag, bird whistle, toy farm, telescope, birthday feast items, bouquet, wooden piano, Christmas accessories all gone! I gave up on the 2ndary market because of missing pieces and the huge mark up in price. Just hoping that AG will recreate her sets and realize how much buyers will appreciate seeing all these items again.

  5. Congrats Ticia, upon the receipt of your new doll. She's stunning. If there's a mark on her nose, it doesn't show on the pics. What an awesome father!!! Thank you, too, for the review of the new dress!
