  1. Thank you Madelon. I like the camper, but it looks like the kitchen area looks too short for the 18 inch dolls. What do you think?

    1. We have it and it is really small. We really love it but play with it with lot's of wishes that is was bigger and more functional. I suggest people buy it on sale. It is great for 2 WellieWishers.

  2. Linda, I'm glad you noticed how short the kitchen area is. I saw this at Tyson's Corner and it is way too short for 18 inch dolls. It would work better for the wellie wishers. I'm not sure why AG made it so short but I didn't buy it after I saw how short it was.

  3. Wow that is amazing the kitchen is only up to her knees! I bet that is too short even for the Wellie Wishers! Sharon

  4. Thanks much for posting the pictures. Way too much Barbie pink. One of the things that made AG so cool all these years is how the items looked real, like they were for real people, not like a pink plastic play toy (sigh). The Adventure Campfire set looks fun. I love the Wellie Wishers too---pink, plastic make-believe is great for them, not so much for our AG girls.

    1. That is so very true. I gave the company feedback on their website and the response was very interesting. Many people miss the great quality and the way the products mimicked real items, but made for doll play. Girls still want that...the response was that I am not their main demographic which is true, but hurtful. Hurtful because I used to be on their mailing list when the company started as a little girl. Now I have my own and I buy for myself as well as my budding family. It is unfortunate when successful companies neglect to acknowledge their buyers of all ages and what they like and want. I do not care for the new changes, but like American Girl stated in an email, I am not their main demographic. But I am a buyer and sales will show that when children of their target age are not impressed, nor are the parents...aka money bags and cardholders who buy the products. They should really start to appreciate that there audience's opinions before they start developing these big ticket items.

    2. What a horrible response from them to you. So sorry. My heart hurts to hear that response.

    3. Yes, their response wasn't nice. Unfortunately it looks like the company is moving into a new direction. I can see the values have changed by the change in quality. I have heard it before from other longtime fans. My feelings will mend, but when companies lose credibility, it hurts more, especially the young girls who look up to them.

    4. I can truly appreciated what you are saying. I want to love what we have invest in, but I can see what you are saying very clearly.

    5. Ticia, I am horrified that American Girl gave you such an inappropriate response to your thoughtful comment. I think that how you feel is how many, many of their customers feel. Mattel has been losing money and they have taken a scattershot approach as to how to fix things. It will be interesting to see what is revealed when their 2nd quarter returns are posted later this week. For shame. Madelon

  5. The kitchen does lift up some! None of the stores have it set up right!
